Flat surface between Mevo+ and hitting mat?

    Hi All,

My setup is somewhat portable, and a lot "budget". When using the Mevo+ in the basement, I was planning on setting it on the floor (carpet) and then having a hitting mat 8' away. I know the space between the LM and the ball needs to be level, does anyone have a good, cheap, mostly portable idea for that 8'? I need to be able to return the basement to my kids when I'm not using it, so something lightweight and inexpensive is ideal.

    Thanks!

Foam insulation board should work and very lightweight. I tried it but honestly didn’t have much of an improvement with my mevo+. I just set the unit on the ground.

I have an outdoor set up which I break down after each session. My backyard has a slight grade which I have to contend with. In the beginning I had all sorts of issues. I followed the suggestions from technical support, one of which included building an almost 3 foot wide x 8 foot long bridge. Nothing seemed to clear things up. I sent my mevo+ back and they sent me a different unit and now my issues seemed to have pretty much stopped. I went back to one of my earlier set ups before the “bridge” idea from FS support. There is about a 1 1/2” gap from mevo+ to hitting mat. What I have found in all of the different things that I have tried and read is that everyone’s set up seems to be unique and requires different things. Not sure why this is. Hope this helps.

Very helpful. If I’m seeing correctly, the space between the platform the Mevo is on and the hitting mat seems to be a bit below the surface the Mevo is sitting on and you’re hitting from. In other words, putting the Mevo on a book or something that is the same height as the hitting mat, I’ll be fine.

Another issue, if hitting from a tee are you supposed to raise the Mevo?

nope - set the 'tee height' on the Mevo+ settings

Alex I thought the height setting was for the difference in the height between the mevo+ and the hitting mat and you did not need to make any adjustments for the tee height. Am I mistaken or has something changed?

Thanks. I probably would have known that if my Mevo was delivered. Still waiting...

The pavers the hitting mat is on and the pavers the mevo+ is on are at the same height and slope. The pavers with the mevo+ is about 1/4” above the ground to make it match the height and slope of the hitting mat pavers. The hitting mat is 1 1/4” thick. So the gap is about -—-____1 1/2”_____——- Hope this makes sense.

Noob FS support will recommend the mevo+ being the same height as the hitting mat with no gap but as I said it seems like everyone’s results vary and you will need to try different things for the best results.

deffo agree with Shankz, when you get the unit have a play with the different settings and find what works best for you and your setup. my unit is on the floor and the hitting mat is about 1 inch thick. so i set the tee height to 1 inch. i dont use a tee as dont hit driver in my sim so works great for my setup.

Thanks everyone for the information. Eventually, some day in the distant future I'll receive my Mevo and then I'll start the experimentation.
