    x2 compared to xi tour

I've been trying to understand the difference between some of the FlightScope products. In particular. How does the x2 differ from the x2 elite and how does the x2 differ from the xi tour. From what I've read, it looks like the memo plus is the replacement for the xi plus. Any info you all can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have the x2 and was in the same boat. The XI tour and the x2 have the same parameters, but the x2 is older and they do not make parts for it anymore. They still support the software and the unit with the parts they have, but they are not making any new parts for it. Other then that, from my research, they are the same parameters. I love my x2 though, great unit for a great price.

Can the x2 be used with e6 and other sim apps? Any problems around the greens? I know it doesn’t have putting but what about chipping?

Yes the X2 does work with E6 connect and TGC2019. You are correct there is no putting, but chipping is ok. It doesn't get spin great and if the stimp of the greens is set too high, it will get frustrating, but I put them down to a slower stimp and then it plays much more realistic for chipping no problem. Then you can set the computer to auto score putting or or you can have it where you enter how many putts. That is for E6 connect which I use all the time and works great. Probably switching to TGC 2019 though when we get a more permanent set up though and can have a desktop computer vs the ipad.

you mentioned that spin isn't great. did you mean just for chipping, or do you think the spin numbers are suspect for full swings as well. do you use the metallic stickers on the balls? what are your thoughts about indoor mode vs short indoor mode. Do you see much of a difference in performance between the two modes.

Spin is great everywhere but the very short chip shots (greenside and shorter then 30 ft). They just run out and run a long time if the stimp is set very fast. Like it isn't reading enough spin on the chip shot. The spin on everything else works great and yes I do use the short indoor mode all the time with the dots and get great results in spin numbers. Very accurate in extremely close to when I use it outside or compared to hitting on my friends Trackman. The only complaint I have is the chipping spin like I mentioned and that is with E6 connect. Everything else is extremely accurate.

Thanks justa... very helpful. I just ordered an x2 and very much look forward to it’s arrival. I think you mentioned that flightscope is no longer making x2 components but might still have some available parts availble. Do you know what are the key components that may need to be replaced at some point? It sounds like it might be prudent to see if I can get them now in case needed. I’m curious. Do you know what the difference is between the x2 and the x2 elite?

The x2 and the x2 elite main difference is the camera is built into the elite for alignment while the x2 you have to have the ipad on the top of it for the picture alignment. Super easy though. Being a radar based unit there isn't really any moving pieces or flashes internally like a skytrak to wear out, the only real things that might wear out are the battery pack (which can build an aftermarket one at batteries plus with ease) and the motors that raise and lower the legs, which I have heard is extemely rare. The power adapter i guess could go bad too, but taking that into any local electronic component store should be able to put one together as well. For the savings of the x2 vs x2 elite or x3, I took the risk and am extremely happy with it!!!!

I did the same. Just got mine and love it. Is there anyway to avoid paying the anual tech support agreement of $350 for use of the pc software?

I just got an x2 for the price of a Mevo +. There is so much data on this I don't know where to start. I did some wedge work today...this thing is super accurate as I used my rangefinder and compared the distance. I'm in the process of adding a pressure mat as this is a feature on the app. Really cool data.

Totally agree when you can get something with the horsepower of the x2 for the price of a mevo plus is crazy. I would much rather give up the sim putting (which isn't realistic or worthwhile hardly anyway) to get the solid numbers of club data and everything is a no brainer for me at least.

I agree. Sim putting doesn't really transfer to green grass golf so it's a useless activity, IMO.

I don't have the PC software so I don't know the answer to your question, but an ipad gives you all the same numbers that upload to myflightscope.com to share and compare. I did start running it on a better ipad pro 11 and makes it so nice.

Where are you guys finding X2s these days? eBay? Classified section on here? I haven't seen one in weeks.

I found mine on ebay for 3700
considering next day ship mevo plus is going for about $3500 on ebay, I was pretty happy with the value.

question about best practices with x2. What kind of lighting is ideal? I’m getting quite a few shots that don’t read the club data. Still get an accurate flight and all that, but evwry other shot or so isnt tracking the club.

btw, has any one tried using a metalic paint instead of the stickers?

Lighting should not matter when using radar. If you have a wedge selected in the V2 app, you won't get any club data. Wedge D-Plane data is only on the X3.
If you are hitting a driver make sure you have the driver selected, if you are hitting an iron make sure you have an iron selected. A driver head looks different to the radar than an iron does which is why it makes a difference.
In my experience with an X2, it rarely didn't give the club data on a full shot.

Lighting is not needed for club data. I think the best advice is to hit about 9 feet (each monitor is different so check what FS says for ideal distance and that should be good) away from the front of the radar. You likely will miss the most data reads with wedges, but once you get to a 9 iron you should be getting full data most of the time.
