Lighting does not matter one bit for a radar unit. If you could hit in pitch black it would register the same. As for the paint, it is the actual metal in the dot that creates the "window" of radar for the unit to record and track the spin. The paint doesn't have any actual metal in it so doesn't work. The dots are cheap enough to buy and hold up well that it isn't a big deal to use them for me. Can find them on ebay too. I usually have mine between 8 and 9 ft and hit into a net on short indoor mode with 8-10 ft of flight and get awesome results. I get club path with extremely rare misses all the way down to lob wedge unless its a short chip shot. Even on e6 connect on a very short chip shot, it will pick up the shot to about a 10 ft shot. Extremely impressed with the x2.Originally posted by Jon View PostI found mine on ebay for 3700
considering next day ship mevo plus is going for about $3500 on ebay, I was pretty happy with the value.
question about best practices with x2. What kind of lighting is ideal? I’m getting quite a few shots that don’t read the club data. Still get an accurate flight and all that, but evwry other shot or so isnt tracking the club.
btw, has any one tried using a metalic paint instead of the stickers?

How do you connect to the internet while wirelessly connected to the x2. So if I wanted to use e6 or awesome golf I would need to be able to connect to the internet. But I can’t figure out how to do that while using the flightscope wireless network

For an ipad without network capabilites I connect my phone via bluetooth to the ipad for the network connection and then connect the x2 to the ipad via wifi and works fine for the internet needed for E6. If on a computer, a lot of people hardwire the radar to the computer via cable and then wifi the network connection or get a second dongle wifi connector to connect internet or the radar to.Originally posted by Jon View PostHow do you connect to the internet while wirelessly connected to the x2. I was having some difficulty getting spin readings, especially with the wedges. So, I changed my hitting bay setup and was able to get 14' of flight before the net. That seemed ro make a big difference. I also spoke with FS support and it was suggested that if I have further problems to switch friom short indoor mode to indoor mode(even though I only have 9' from sensor to tee and 14' from tee to net. Haven't tried that yet.

Yeah when I first got mine and experimenting with dots, this can make a difference as well. The ball flight distance is the real big thing.Originally posted by Jon View PostI was having some difficulty getting spin readings, especially with the wedges. For chipping in the sim golf I set the stimp slow so it doesn't roll super far on bump and runs and work on higher lofted chips shots when playing. Seems to work ok since you can't putt and the rest is spot on.
