  • Non permanent setup for Mevo+

Recently got a Mevo+ for my garage practice setup. My setup is not permanent in that I don’t leave the net/mat up all the time, I break down after each session and the garage is also used to park vehicles.

currently having issues with putting reads. Anyone have any tips for a temporary/non-permanent setup similar to mine such it doesn’t sacrifice shot reading? Full swings are not a problem, just having issues putting.

I am having success with putting - very few no-reads and virtually no mis-reads. I use the following settings:

Mevo+ to ball for putting - 4.5 feet
    Mevo+ tilt - 11-degrees
    Mevo+ roll - 0.0
Check "slow swing speed" in the TGC Flightscope console
    Use Short Indoor mode
I put from almost right in front of the Mevo+ (in my photos I use the putting strip, not the PuttOut mat

Where is hit shots from is 7 feet in front of the Mevo+ and I have 10.5 feet from tee to screen.

Also, it's helpful to have a nice smooth putting surface. If the ball is hopping or stuttering along it's going to affect the read. You need a nice smooth roll.

Looks very nice. I am curious about the infrared heater you are using. Does it interferences the mevo+ read? How do you feel about it? I am going to setup mine in garage too.

The heater does not interfere with the Mevo+ as I've runs tests with and without it on. I've been using it for the past couple of weeks and it works well but it really hasn't been that cold where I am. You can see in my photos I have a Reznor UDAP45 forced air heater, which will be installed on Friday morning so I don't think I'll be using the portable infrared heater much longer.

Great to hear! Do you find your distances pretty accurate on the Mevo as well for putting? I was hitting some putts WELL past 15 feet the other day and the Mevo would barely register 12 feet. Thanks!

I have noticed some inconsistencies as of late, for sure. The issue you talked about I have been seeing a bit more lately. Some putts - like a 30 footer uphill, I can't hit hard enough because the Mevo+ won't read it and if I hit a putt hard enough for the Mevo to read it only goes 12 or 14 feet. Very frustrating.

When I wrote the post above I was having almost no issues with putting and chipping but in the last 3 days I've seen some of the old issues pop-up, which is frustrating because I have not changed my setup and it worked great before.

Thanks for the update! My setup isn't permanent either so I wonder if that's what leading to the inconsistencies. I didn't put much with my Skytrak but felt it was really really accurate, as far as distance was concerned. If memory serves right though, they had issues in the beginning with short chips. Here's hoping Flightscope can catch up as I'm starting to miss putting more and more.
