Mevo plus - Floor mounted projector

Hi all, just got my Mevo plus and was wondering if using a floor mounted projector was a complete no no, as that option would be so much easier for me as I’m hitting in to a netted golf cage in the garden which has been covered in a tarpaulin so nowhere to really roof mount.

Has anyone successfully floor mounted a projector with the Mevo plus using some type of caged box or something?

Mine is ceiling mounted but I don't see how floor mounting would be a problem. Just use plywood and make a box to protect it. If you notice it might be causing interference with the Mevo, then buy some faraday fabric (copper fabric) and wrap around the plywood enclosure.

My brother in law plays with his floor mounted with zero issues. Just need to protect it well. Look online for floor mount projector covers for golf simulators, they sell them, or make your own with plywood or something and put a little strip of turf over it..

Thanks for the replies, I asked flightscope the question and have received the answer below which has me a bit concerned that if I buy a short throw projector for floor mounting I will be risking not getting good readings.

        Hi Neil,
I know there are people that would use a Floor mounted projector, but there might be issues with the distances and numbers even though the steel mesh is used. You can try it, but would be concerned that you might not get great numbers

Yeah, that's the challenge, everyone's environment can be different, hard to give a definitive yes or no... you may just have to try and see what happens, then adjust from there. Just get a projector somewhere with a good return policy. A hassle? probably, but might be the only way you are going to know for sure without borrowing one from someone.

I really should have looked in to things a bit closer before going the Mevo route but never mind, where the is a will there is a way. Hopefully
