Mevo+ with mat for putting - Confirmation needed

Hello Everyone,

I have a Mevo+ on order and am doing a garage sim build that I can take down after use.

My question is with the mat. I know for putting, it needs to be on the same level but i'm not sure how wide is wide enough.

If I go 2 feet wide is that ok. So mevo+ will sit on the mat and turf that is 2 feet wide and that will go for 18 feet. Or does it need to be wider 3 or 4 feet?

I'm hoping 2 feet is enough and its less money on the exercise mats and putting turf I got.

I have some drawing examples as well.

I will start off by saying that all setups are different so results my vary. I think 2 feet is plenty wide enough. The putting surface in my outdoor set up is currently about 6” wide (a 5/4 deck board) and putting seems to work fairly well. Here is a picture of it.

I like the idea for the narrow strip next to the hitting area, I was thinking of doing something similar. Were you able to get a fairly long strip or did you have to piece it together? Can you order that online?

I have a sim that i put up and tear down after each use so we can park in the garage. I would classify it as a budget build.

Have to clean the floor once in a while from dirt and snow. I lay the rug down and hitting mats. Then I hang my hitting screen which i made from painters drop-cloths. The heavy canvas stops the ball dead so it works pretty well and the projector shows up okay on it too. For putting we put 2 putting mats end-for-end which gives us about 20 feet of length for putts. We don't use the Mevo to putt. We manually enter the putts on e6. The way we put is if you have a 45 foot putt, you have to make 2 20-footers and a 5-footer. If you miss all 3 it's a 3-putt. If you make one it is a 2-putt, all 3 is... well... pretty good.

Will keep making improvements but all-in-all it works really well. Takes about 10 minutes to set up and tear down.

It's been working well for me. Few very few no-reads and the odd mis-read. Works well, for the most part. Got my Mevo+ back in June and am running 0.12 firmware.

JayJo13, how well does this work for chipping? I'm trying to figure out if I need the entire flooring area to be the same height or just a long strip like you have here the same height as my hitting mat.

Chipping works okay. Still get those sky-high chips now and again and the odd time it takes 5 or 6 shots to read a short chip (8 yards or less).I'm not sure if having the entire flooring area the same height would make a difference.
