Connecting Mevo+, PC, and Projector - what do I need?

My Mevo+ is finally coming next week. My gaming PC (Lenovo Creator 5i) is arriving tomorrow. So far, I have the screen set up and the turf read to go. I want to be able to use it as soon as the other parts come in so what do I need? How do I connect everything? I want to make sure I have whatever I need to complete the setup asap and not have to wait for additional parts to come in. I will be using TGC 2019 to the extent that matters.

    - HDMI from PC to Projector? Not USB?
    - Will I need a Wifi Connection?
    - How does the PC connect to the Mevo+?
    - Do I need a monitor for the PC or can I use the projector screen?
    - Anything else I could be missing?

Awesome! I understand the excitement and wanting to get it running the second you get everything!

I can give you some things you'll need but might miss some things that mare specific to your room and overall setup.
    1. Power and HDMI run to projector. If on the ceiling, you'll need some way to attach the wires to the ceiling or run them behind the wall.
    2. Ceiling mount for projector if mounting on the ceiling.
    3. If your computer doesn't have an HDMI output, you'll need a display adapter; USB-C to HDMI, or DisplayPort to HDMI, etc.
    4. I'm not sure how the Mevo+ connects to the computer. See the Mevo+ manual.
    5. Your computer will need an internet connection for downloading software, and getting the most out of TGC2019. So either a wired or WiFi internet connection.
    6. Having a monitor by the computer in addition to the projector is probably preferred by most but you don't need that on day 1. I actually have 2 monitors by my computer; 1 that replicates the projector image and the other for displaying the Uneekor info or launch monitor.
    7. Mouse and keyboard for the computer.
    8. Some sort of shelf or computer cabinet for a cleaner look. Again, you don't need this on day 1.
    9. Speakers for the computer so you can get audio from the TGC gameplay.
    10. Surge protected power strip.
I'm sure I forgot some things but I hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy!

      5. Yes, definitely need internet for TGC as the courses are not downloaded. There are 32 (I believe it's 32) courses that can be accessed without internet. The rest are cloud-based. Plus you need internet for tournament play.

      6. A monitor can be used or not. It's not necessary. Plenty of people (myself included) just use the impact screen as a "monitor."

      9. If your projector has speakers the audio will come out there. The HDMI cable will send both the image and the audio to the projector. If you would rather use your computer speakers or an external speaker there is a way to do that as well.

Thanks so much. This is a great start and I think I'm in good shape. I already have the projector mount for the ceiling and plan on hanging it this week. Ordered an inexpensive keyboard and mouse last night and a 30 foot hdmi cable. Wifi in the garage seems okay but may consider putting another eero puck out there to be able to do wired and wireless. Cabinet for the computer will come in the future.

Will check back in once I make more progress assuming all goes well. Also still open to other solutions.
Working...
