    Ghost putts with long putts

I am consistently getting ghost putts when the putt is over 30ft. All other putts are working great (even really really short ones). Beside becoming a better golfer and making sure that I get on the green closer to the pin has anyone else figured out a way to fix this? Really gets annoying when playing in a tournament where you don’t get mulligans.
It is weird though...if I stand between the mevo and the ball the ghost putt doesn’t happen, but as soon as I move out of the way it happens. My projector is over 10ft above the mevo and I figure it would happen more often if that was the problem.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks!

Do we know if Flightscope is working on this issue?

Does your unit ghost putt on the tee box if you accidentally club down to it on the green?

Not sure, never tried to club down to a putter on the tee box. I know it doesn’t do it if I attempt to putt from the fringe instead of chipping.

So the threshold got a little larger. Had a 31ft putt and the ghost putt didn’t happen. Luckily only had it happen once during the last round I played, but it always seems to happen on a birdie putt which usually ends up being a double since it always putts it off the green. :-(

My Mevo seems to ghost putt in most situations a putter is selected. The ghost is a terrible putter which doesn't help if I am playing in a tourney. It does putt off the green most of the time.

When putter is chosen, the sensitivity of the m+ Is cranked way up. Same for shorter putts.

Fortner28, you may wanna check for interference in your environment if it is happening every time. And you are right, the ghost sucks at putting! :-)

I know mine is caused my interference caused by both my garage heater and my projector. If I have either on with the fans running, it ghost putts almost 100% of the time. If I play with the projector off and heater off, the putts work pretty good. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck making faraday cages around garage heaters as well as the projector? I was thinking of setting up a fanless heater if the cage idea was a bad one.

I had both issues. Built a metal mesh cage around projector and it works great. Took apart my heater and put metal mesh around the entire inside and the fan element. Def helped but not 100% perfect. But, I can play with heat on and only get 1-2 ghost putts per round.

I have the same problem and it seems as if the only complete solution is the next update. I read that flightscope was testing it. In the meantime I do two things, one is I go to the practice green before a round and test out the autoputt to see how far it is going that day. Generally, it seems to me about 13 mph for a putt of 40-45 feet, but sometimes it is down around 8mph for about a 25 ft putt. Then in my round, if that length makes some sense (about right or enough to get it into gimme range) I let it autoputt. If it isn't good, especially if the autoputt is too short, I quickly change my club to try to hit a chip. You have to be fast and make a quick calculation on the length with uphill or downhill. When the autoputt is too long then it becomes another problem with the MEVO+ sometimes miss reading short chips, but it is what it is for now.

I sent an email to flighscope about trying the firmware rollback. They called me within 5 min. Rolled me back to 0.12. Now I can putt with the heater and the projector on! As I said earlier, I was getting 100% ghost putts with either device on. What a difference! Very happy with today's customer service! I am now pretty happy with my mevo vs the moderately happy I was before.

Do you have to be connected to the Mevo unit with them on the phone or can they send it to your phone without being connected to the unit?

I use my PC to play with it, so its hooked up to it with wifi and I have ethernet internet plugged in as well. I'm sure this is the situation you need. I don't know if they can do it on your phone. Or if you computer has 2 wifi adapters, it would work as well. They connect with TeamViewer, so connection to mevo and internet is a must.

Really? What information did you give to them to get them to rollback? Just the Wifi number for the Mevo+? I know the new version of the firmware is supposed to fix the problem so I was just going to wait for it cause the rollback seemed like a hassle to me. But if it is that easy maybe I will just do that.
        Thanks!

Just ask them to roll back to .12. All I did. However they upgraded me to Beta v.17 since I ask, and yesterday the phantom putts returned. I had played 2 other rounds after the update before this returned. No sent them another Support Feedback post explaining the phantom was back. So guess we wait now. Question to others... do phantom putts only occur on IOS version or with PC version also occurring?

All I mentioned was the ghost putting and that I wanted to roll back. I didn't mention the projector or the heater and they just called and did it. The technician was Ian Frost. Was very helpful.
I cant say that everyone will get the same experience, but I can only relay what my experience was. They used teamviewer to remote to my pc, and I already had the mevo connected with wifi. When you fill out the contact form on the flightscope support page, it asks for the serial number on the device. definitely worth doing.

Been following this post with hope that ghost putting would disappear as since this did not happen with the newest release from FS I decided to jump in. Using Pc version and noticed that long putts 30 ft. Ghost putt always of the green and then short chips do not work well so past the flag 20 ft pray that it does not make it to 30 ft or another ghost putt off the green.... you can see where this is going here. Not the end of the world, but when your trying to play online tour this makes the round very frustrating. I hope they will do something about this. I can live with the no reads on short chips but the ghost putting has to stop. For now I am going to stop playing the online tour until fixed. Has anyone found a workaround? Lastly iI did go to the E6 chip and putt area and attempt to putt 30 ft putt ghost putts happen there as well. Very frustrated

I had them roll me back to firmware .12 and there were no ghost putts there, but there were a lot of "no read" putts on long putts that got very frustrating. I went back up to .16 last night. There is a setting that you can increase to stop the 30ft ghost putt. It is under "Settings" in the Flightscope Interface before starting TGC. Increase "Fast putting". I increased it to 45ft. Yes the ghost putt still happens after 45 ft, but the putt doesn't end up off the green. The ghost actually made a 49ft putt for a birdie yesterday for me :-) I think I may try 50ft. Hopefully .17 will get rid of the ghost putts.

Last night I emailed FS about the issue and the frustration about the ghost putts. I received a message and wanted to share the good news.

“Apologies for the delay, and the issues. You will be very happy to know that we are about to bring out a new version of the firmware very shortly, which should solve all the issues. We are busy testing as we speak, so suggest we wait if you don't mind.”

FYI - I just received and email from FlightScope a few minutes ago stating the following:

"Please note that a new Mevo+ firmware version, DSP version 0.17, will be released tomorrow.

This release includes putting improvements, fixes and improvements for ghost putts, improvements to the putting performance in noisy environments, and connection improvements."

Hoping this takes care of the issues!
