  • 0.17 firmware - cannot register putts between 7.5mph and 10.25mph

Have been experimenting more with 0.17 on TGC2019. First thing I have noticed is that the fast putting setting seems to no longer really matter, and that short putting for my setup had improved quite a bit - much more accurate correlation between the roll out on my turf and TGC.

One interesting thing I have noticed, though, is that I cannot for the life of me get a putt to register between 7.5 and 10.25 mph... I had a long putt on auto rewind and hit probably 50 putts just trying to ramp up and down between 6 and 12mph, and it flows nicely from 6 up to 7-.5, but then there seems to be a tendency to reduce the speed on some firmer strikes to bring it back down to approx 7-7.5mph... then if you get just far enough past that speed “dead zone” it all of a sudden registers over 10mph. I think I had only one putt that I was able to register just over 8, but otherwise have not been able to get anything in that range.

Obviously lots of folks are experiencing varying issues with the new firmware, but just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

it almost seems like they tweaked the sensitivity in the slower range of putts to better match short putting but there was some sort of logic gap in there that is preventing it from flowing smoothly up that mph scale.

Just wanted to bump this one last time to see if lots of other folks have had this issue.

I know from the other 0.17 thread, JayJo13 said he had similar issues, and I have not yet had time to call Flightscope to discuss this, but just curious if other folks are also seeing the same issue with really anything between 20-35 ft putts with 0.17 firmware.

After I read this when you first posted I definitely paid attention to the putt speed. Yes, I have experienced this. Lots of putts come up very short (7 mph) or goes way to long cause they think I hit it at 14mph for a 25 foot putt.

I actually think I might be in the same boat here.

I was testing the putting out on mthunt's dead flat range.

The weird thing is that everything shows up as 6-7 MPH....but the distances can vary.

I feel like I need to set the green speed to very fast....and then it feels like an 8 stimp lol.

Otherwise....you just need to smash the putt.

I have been thinking the same thing... the feel for inside 20 feet (less than 7 mph) and in is drastically improved in my opinion, so I was debating going with very fast greens to just try to essentially stretch that speed range out as wide a range of putt length as possible.

I am going to try to get ahold of Flightscope and talk through it with them. I would hope this is something that can be addressed, hopefully it is some sort of artifact from the fast putting speed scaling or whatever that needs to be cleaned up.
      Working...
