Help! Why is my Mevo Plus not working???

Hi

Bought my Mevo Plus today and set it for the first time in my backyard. I spent 3 hours, could NOT get it to read a single shot on FS Golf!!!

It was fully charged, I adjusted so it was the correct 8ft distance behind the ball, 8 feet in front also to the net. Tilt etc all correct. Camera alignment on target. The lights showed correctly, it was armed and it said ‘ready’. It didn’t record a lot of my shots, but those it did made a ‘ding’ sound, but nothing showed on screen as you can see.

I was either hitting off grass (typical backyard length, crept about 1/3rd up the ball) or I used a high tee to experiment and ensure the ball stood above the grass in case visibility was causing the issue. Nothing helped!

For $2000 I expected a polished machine, this was a huge huge disappointment.

What am I doing wrong?

Change the mode to short indoor. Outdoor is only used for unrestricted ball flight. It's expecting to be able to measure 100 years, instead it gets 8 ft so it doesn't pick up. I'd day if you spend $2000 on something you should read the stuff that comes with it before writing it off.

Also those club head speeds are incredibly slow, leads me to believe you're using foam or almost golf balls.

If you are using real balls turn on slow swing mode.

Thanks for the advice. It doesn’t mention anything about choosing short indoor mode when using a net outdoors, they should explain this.

Do you always need to use a mat? Does it pick up balls played off grass, similar length to typical short rough on a course?

Its about ball flight distance. In the FS Golf app each option Short Indoor/Indoor/Long Indoor/Outdoor states underneath it how far it tracks ball flight for (min to max).

It should pick it up off grass, granted I'd ordinarily recommend giving it more flight in that case. 8 is a bit tight in prefect condition, 10-12 ball to screen would be a smidge better if you can especially out of grass.
