Just wanted to post an update and share my thoughts on owning the Mevo+ for the past year. Like most on here I have multiple applications that I use my Mevo+ with. E6, TGC 2019, Creative Golf, FS Golf.... One thing that was frustrating to me was TGC 2019 was having a terrible time getting my driver to read properly. At the recommended 12 degrees of tilt the driver would show drastic draw / hook on what felt like straight or slight draw contact. This frustrated me for awhile and I switched between E6, FS Golf and TGC and E6, FS Golf would show straight shots or slight draws and TGC would be way left. Initially this made playing TGC a lot less fun. I was resorting to aiming way right and playing these massive hooks to get a ball in the fairway. In any event I decided to start experimenting with tilt of the unit and once I increased the tilt to 15 degrees or more everything in TGC started working as it should. Probably took way to long for me to find this out, but hoped it would help someone else noticing the same issues.
Once I solved that issue I have really been enjoying the unit and have had a blast playing in the online societies over the past few months. My one major gripe with TGC 2019 is not being able to get a ball to stick on a green. Perfect wedges and 9 irons from 140 / 150 with high apex and decent backspin still bound 10+ yards forward. E6 on the other hand acts as one would expect on those shots. I suppose you can't have it all.
It's a great unit and I've taken it on course, to the range and primarily in my sim room. It's just a solid device. YMMV, but I don't know that you would get a ton more value out of a GC Quad or Trackman unit. I do think the Uneeker units that have the slow motion of the clubhead at impact adds value, but it also comes at a higher price point. Pretty much any person who has hit shots on my simulator or even random folks at the driving range have all loved the unit and wanted to know more about it. Wondering if anyone else has taken it to the range and instantly had a few curious people ask what the unit is and how accurate it is. Overall it's great for in-home sim use and is pretty darn accurate.. Would I use it for a ball fitting: No. Would I use it for club fitting: Potentially. If you are really into splitting hairs and wanted to compare shafts and balls where you were looking to get that last ounce of extra distance you may need a more powerful tool to really get accurate data for that. If you are a normal 0 - 30 handicap player looking to have fun and get some practice and sim rounds in this is a fantastic device. I feel each Mevo+ is probably it's own unique creature. Depending on environment some people may have more success with less distance ball to Mevo+ or more or less tilt than recommended just based on how the components are situated in the unit. My advice to anyone who is struggling with their unit is to experiment with a range of setups until you find one that works best for you and your environment. Unlike the photo based units these radar units tend to be a little more particular from environment to environment, but once you have it dialed in I think it can compete with most higher end systems on the market.
All that being said, I'm really loving the unit and now that I've got the tilt figured out for my environment with TGC I think it's worth every penny.
