I see people in TGC posting really low numbers in TGC tourneys. I have read people in forums saying they play 10 strokes better on their sim? I have had my unit for about a year and wondered if my experience is so different from others? My irons on TGC are about 5-10 yards longer than in real play but I get one or two approaches a round that can be 50 yards long and create some big numbers on a hole. Does nobody else have this happen? You flush an iron and it gets a really hot reading?

yes - with M+, iron sometimes has 2000 spin or so and goes way too far. agree that it is usually on a perfectly stuck shot. but maybe that's only when i notice it (fat shot with low spin might end up good distance). haven't really tried to figure out why - i just take solace in the fact that i hit a perfect shot and move on. Kinda like real golf (and life) there are good breaks and bad breaks in sim golf. i have trouble with the greens on TGC, so play that less than E6. I definitely score better on sim; perfect lies and 10 foot gimmies will do that!

the low spinners have definitely happened with dots - at least for me. might be as simple as getting fresh ball/fresh dot. they happen infrequently and randomly (aside from maybe on well-struck irons) as far as i can tell, so hard to test/prove.

I don't think there is anything we can do fully eliminate these misreads fully but i do think that there are ways to make it better. keeping fresh dots is one thing, I also noticed that the after market dots are thin and don't seem to last as long or get as reliable side/backspin reads. I only use the thicker ones from flightscope. Second thing is it is a good idea to contact support and send them data samples of your environment in your sim to see if there is something that stands out that could influence bad reads. If you call support they can assist you with process. The Titleist balls seem ok but I am not fully sold on them yet. I seem to get sidespin and backspin measured reads (unitalicized) which is good and seems to work but the verdict is still out on them!
