  • Mevo+ Putting setup

I just finished my simulator about 3 weeks ago. It's been a lot of fun and I'm very impressed with the Mevo+ for the most part. My biggest issues are putting and shot dispersion with the driver.
    Here is my setup:
    Mevo+ to hitting mat - 7'1"
Hitting mat to screen - 8'10"
13 foot WellPutt mat immediately to the right of hitting mat
TGC 2019 is my sim software
    Short indoor setup
    Firmware version 0.19
Mevo+ is centered so right half is behind putting matt and left half is behind hitting mat.
Unit is level with hitting mat and putting mat

After a lot of experimentation, I get the best putting results using a tilt of 7.0 degrees (0.0 roll) and I putt from 3'4" from the unit. I also have Straight putting turned on and Green Stimp setting at 8. I tried the Flightscope recommended setup (12 degrees tilt and 7 feet from unit for putting) but got fewer than 50% of putts to read. Just curious what settings others have found best. I'm also a little worried that the 7 degree tilt might cause more dispersion with my driver than what is really there.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

To some extent I think all Mevo+ units are unicorns. What setup works for one may not work for another and so forth. Trial and error is your friend until you find the magic combination that produces the best results. I'm over a year in and still have issues with putting over 20 feet. To the point that I don't bother putting over 25 feet at all. I just change to chipping and go from there. Eventually I think I'll find the right tilt / distance combo that works best, but still tinkering at this stage. I've not tried going south of 12 degrees, but maybe I'll give that a go this week. I get pretty good results with 16 degrees on driver in TGC 2019 and at 16 I still get great reads on short chips and short putts, but just not good with putts over 25 feet.

I see the same issue over 20’. Haven’t played with it much lately but the 7 degree tilt thing sounds like something I might try.

I recommend trying the low tilt (7 degrees). It made a huge difference for me. Also, putting closer to the unit (3'4") helped probably because it gave the mevo more time to see the putt rolling. On long putts, this makes a significant difference I think. I also believe that the putterhead position matters. My buddy brings his putterhead back to contact position after a putt and the Mevo has much more difficulty reading his putts than mine. Last thing, I think roll is VERY important and really needs to be exactly 0 to get your best results. Let us know if you find any improvements.

I think people putt differently, too. If the putter (like, a large TM Spider putter or something) stays low to the ground and blocks the ball from being seen by the radar, that could cause problems.

I hope the Fusion technology update helps the chipping and putting on the Mevo plus. For me the short game on the Mevo plus is very suboptimal. I absolutely love chipping and putting on the GC2.

            1. Has anyone tried chipping and putting on the X3 which I assume already has Fusion tech in place?

            2. What are the suggested tips to Mevo plus setup for putting? (distance from radar, radar tilt, dot or no dot) I am sure its setup dependent but would be good to know what others are doing.
