    Mevo+ in unfinished basement

Does anyone use their Mevo+ in a room with cinder block walls? My original plan to install a simulator in a finished bonus room has been scuttled, and I’ve been relegated to our unfinished basement. I have read some concerns about a radar based unit’s accuracy in such settings, but wanted to see if anyone currently has a similar set-up and, if so, what their experience has been. I have an unopened unit in hand (bought during the November $200 off sale), but am contemplating unloading and maybe going with a photo metric unit, instead.

I’ll add that there are things like an HVAC unit and a fridge, but neither will be in or directly adjacent to the radar window.

Pictures and measurements would help to figure this out.

Well, the area is currently a rat’s nest, so pics won’t give much info aside from I need to clean my basement, but I’ve got basically as much space back from the screen as I want (the run is about 45 feet), so obviously I won’t use all of that. The width is 15 feet to start and that’s where the enclosure will sit, and eventually widens to 22 feet. That’s where the fridge is so it will be off to the side and about 15 feet from the radar. The HVAC is about 20 feet back, and would be 8 feet to the side of the radar unit if I placed it where I want it. Ceiling is just shy of 9’. No planning on hitting drivers.

Not exactly scientific but my setup is in my garage, which has steel-reinforced concrete footings extending up 5' around the perimeter and mine reads the same indoors as it does off a tee block.

When you indicated that the ceiling is 9 feet high, the Red Flag went up. Have you tried any practice swings, especially with long clubs? It may at the very least cause you to alter your swing, which could have a lasting effect. The other issues are probably workable. The ceiling height issue depends on how tall you are.

Yeah, I’m not going to be able to swing driver, but all irons are fine - I’m short (5’8”).

I remember hearing in one of the Mevo Plus's tutorials using a wire mesh as a background or covering possible interference issues with wire mesh really helps the radar. I guess you are creating a blank canvass for the unit to read the ball and the club.
