  • Is anyone else disappointed with TGC 2019 & Flightscope Mevo + playability?

    Hey all,

First time poster here, just thought I'd share my frustrations with the software & to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me??

    Here it goes:

So I purchased my Flightcope Mevo + & TGC 2019 2 years ago, & never really used the TGC 2019 as I'd like. Now that I've transformed my garage into a golf studio, I've had a lot more time to play and attempt to trouble shoot any possible issues.

I'm a PGA of Canada Class "A" Professional ( I say this as humble as I can), by no means am I Tiger Woods, but I can hold my own on the course as a competitive player.

    My frustrastations:

    - Unrealistic ball flight physics. Seems to be very sensitive to curvature, balls slicing & drawing all over the place.
    - Holding greens are almost impossible, launch seems way to low.
    - Putting issues registering ( I don't mind this as much as poor ball flight physics. )

I've tried to remain patient, hoping the upgrades & updates would diagnose these issues. I've tried everything possible to from a set up standpoint to cure the issues, with no prevail.

I'm at the point where I think I need to sell off my license, as my patience has completely worn thin.

Amazing how accurate the FS Golf app is & E6, how can this not translate to TGC 2019?

    Anybody care to chime in??

    Cheers.

I wouldn’t compare to the TGC pc version. The simulator version has been retooled for sim use and I suspect uses different algos etc. Perhaps Protee can chime in on the difference. These numbers I agree are sent from Flightscope to the simulator version. What I am suggesting is you look at the ball flight in the sim version and compare that to the Flightscope Trajectory tool.

Your hitting with the X2 using TGC2019? Correct? If so why don't you take the ball numbers from TGC and put them into the Flightscope trajectory analyser to compare?

Bubba that’s what the pc version of flightscope does. It does this for you

My apologies Davidgolfer. I've never used the PC version before. All I know is that when I check my TGC golf flight to the FS shot analyser they are very close.

Ok I’m starting to understand what is going on. I someone at protee looks in maybe they can confirm. Looks like it start line that is the problem and possibly excessive curve. Although, it would be more playable if start line is correct or more accurate.
I was not able to get exact numbers on swings from one to the other. X2 will not let me connect two devices over WiFi so can’t see both at same time.
I play a fade almost exclusively. The way I play a fade path is left and club face is left but not as much as path. The ball starts left and moves to right.
Best I can tell TGC is not allowing the ball to start left if it does it’s not enough. So, the resulting ball flight is starts is straight at first then excessively right.
Hit 11 shots with 6 iron and just a few ended up right of the target when hitting Flightscope X2 with my iPad.
I have attached a few screen shots to hopefully show the differences.
I know TGC is a simulator game and I’m not expecting perfect. Just looking for playable. I don’t curve the ball 30 yards with a 6 iron.
During the game I don’t always change the club to exact club I’m hitting so the club it says at top is not always correct. On IPad I was hitting all 6 irons.

Biggest difference if you look at the protee shot graph bottom middle is how far right the shots go and never start left of the line. Where the Flightscope (correct paths) start left and fall right.

Doonshowpgagolf sorry for high jacking your thread. Hope they fix this or at least improve it soon.

I see your point but I would look more at how it started on your real shot video than the overhead on the TGC analysis. As well the final location on the TGC analysis is after the bounce and roll whereas FS is showing the carry.

Also if you notice the flightscope is total curve numbers. Whereas TGC is just number right of target.
Again if you notice total curve just a few yards where tgc is showing 14 yards right.
You really have to understand ball flight to see what the differences are. 1-2 closed face the ball show start left of the target with irons.

Thanks for post David. No need to apologize fella! I’m glad I’m not the only one having issues.

Spin Axis is the biggest issue in the last 2 Firmware updates (0.19 and 0.20)

when you are trying to hit HUGE hooks, like around a trees or away from areas, your spin axis is AT MOST 20-24 DEGREES...and thats if youre doing it on PURPOSE!
Im very good at shaping so i hit these shots all the time so i know what the numbers should look like...so if you hit normal shots and see anything remotely close to 20 degrees, its an error and not the shot you hit

Wonder if there are any setting that can minimize this? I know there are path and face correction settings. Just haven’t played around with changing or adding these values.
