  • Help Setting up Video capture

    Hi all,

I have a Mevo+ running on an iPad Pro. The iPad sits away where is hooked up to an adapter connecting me to Ethernet, the projector, and power. I'd like to use another device mounted on a tripod to record store motion video. Ideally, but not a necessity, I'd like to use the FS Golf app, so I can see swing/ball data with the video. And ideally, I'd like to be able to review the video on the ipad.

Will this work with an Android device (Galaxy S20 FE) as the device that records the video? Or will I be better off using an iPhone? I have access to an iPhone 8 that I can use for this.

Is there another way to do this without using the FS Golf app to record the video?

Any help with setup tips is appreciated.

I think that there's a lot that is still not fully understood about the upcoming changes to the FS Golf app. It is rumoured that it will work with Multicam, and it is also rumoured that there is a native PC version of the FS Golf app coming. One or both of those may allow you to do what you want to do, but at the moment it's tough to say. FS said on IG today that they hope Apple will approve the new ios app soon and it will be hopefully released to the public by the end of the week, so we should have a bit more clarity at that point.

You cannot use your intended configuation with the current version of FS App. If Apple gets the new FS App through QA as hoped this week, then you will certainly be able to do that. I will be doing that immediatly in fact as I would like like to use the Mevo+ and its camera view from behind, and my ipad for the profile view at the same time. Its going to be great lol! The Multi Cam app from FS that is out there is for X3 only and will likely be retired, as FS appears to be consolidating app functionality into one app which makes sense.

Thanks for the responses jkat and BobbyT.

Just so I'm clear, am I correct in assuming I can't currently connect 2 devices to the Mevo+ at the same time? My intention would be to use a phone to record video, while the iPad is used to send the video to the projector.

If that's the case, my options are to wait for an update to FS Golf, or use another app to record video. However, I'd really like to have the data points attached to the video, so I can try to see what a good swing looks like compared to a less-than-stellar swing.

Are there any 3rd-party video capture apps that can read Mevo+ data?

In the current setup, that's correct. Your choice of camera is limited to either the camera in the Mevo+ or the camera on whichever device you're running FS Golf on.

FS confirm on their Q&A pinned story on Instagram multi USB camera capability on the PC version of FS golf.
