Mevo plus multicam setup

I am using my iPad and my iPhone along with the mevo+ camera. I have only done it a few times and can never remember how I get it to work. I do know that I put both on the mevo+ network and the run the MultiCam program and I believe I open it on the iPhone but the iPad is the one running the FS golf app. Sorry if I got this wrong, I have to mess with it every time since I use it so infrequently.

Bubba I think I get I to work by running the multi cam app on my iPhone while running the FS golf app on the iPad. I have not seen instructions anywhere but have not looked all that hard. If I get a chance latter I will try to set it up and let you know how I got it to work “this time”

Just set it up
1. Turn on mevo+
2. Connect IPad to mevo+
3. Start F.S. Golf app and verify alignment and settings and start session
4. Connect iPhone to mevo+
5. Start MultiCam app on Iphone
6. Switch FS golf app on iPad to video
7. Select camera layout (in my case 3, iPad,iPhone,&mevo+
8. Select which tile to display each camera view.
Hope this makes sense, I don’t have a desktop or laptop but it is probably pretty much the same.

I just got my Mevo+ set up (initial setup at least) a couple of days ago. Using an iPad Pro to drive FS Golf app and serve as one camera, attempted to use a Pixel 5 as the second camera through Multicam. Thoughts:- iPad works phenomenally well as one of the cameras - as long as it is device running the FS Golf app you can use the slo-mo camera at full resolution which beats any top quality USB camera picture I've seen uploaded here (since it's not limited by USB data transfer bandwidth)
- iPad slo-mo as camera means you need to HDMI/Airplay to a TV/projector and use a bluetooth mouse because it's a rear-facing camera
- Video integration in the FS Golf app is frustrating because, to my knowledge, you cannot video record and view 3D trajectory at the same time. You have to have the screen on the video view in order to record. You can then go back through the 3D trajectory of your shots. I would prefer to view the 3D trajectory on default, always be recording, and then be able to go into video view on demand to review.
- Multicam app needs a lot of work. Often the Pixel will show as connected to Mevo+ in the Multicam app but then not be discoverable on the FS Golf app
- When Multicam does connect, it is effectively useless in its current state because it locks you into only 1 second of pre-shot capture, which is not long enough to view setup. It's so strange because it shows an option to change the pre- and post-shot capture timing in the Multicam app but it is greyed out/locked. This would maybe be tolerable as a second view except it also then limits your primary camera feed to 1 second pre-shot in order to sync with the Multicam video.
- Multicam feed from my Pixel 5 was limited to 30 FPS and poor resolution. I wonder if this is a universal lock because they have to one-size-fits-all for WiFi data transfer speeds in order to sync the videos quickly. It would be nice if this was unlocked so we could fine tune quality vs. sync speed for our own network speeds
I will likely end up implementing a dual USB setup with Kinovea once I wrap my head fully around it. That would allow sim/range play and video capture simultaneously even though the data/video would not be integrated. Would also future proof for eventual Mevo+ PC app or eventual Swing Catalyst Mevo+ integration.

Update here... I just tried Multicam again today with the same setup as above and it actually connected AND it didn't limit the iPad's pre-shot time. It still fixes the Multicam pre-shot to 1 sec and almost just as annoyingly it fixes the post-shot to FOUR SECONDS.
But it did allow me to at least see a second camera angle at 720p and 30 fps starting mid backswing while not limiting the primary camera recording in anyway.
So basically the verdict is that it's completely hit or miss and when it hits it has the massive limitations of 1 sec preshot, 4 sec post shot, and 720p/30fps.
Agree with bubbtubbs that they just need to release a PC app.

Totally agree about a PC app.
Here instructions on multicam from Flightscope support.
You can have up to 4 camera displays in the Multicam app.
Below are the instructions for using Multiple recording devices using the FS Golf and FlightScope MultiCam App:
Ensure the Mevo+ is switched on
On the device running the MultiCam App (iOS version 1.4.3)
• Connect to the Mevo+'s WiFi
• Open the MultiCam app
• Go to Settings to change the following if needed:
• General: The Server Name as it will be displayed in the FS Golf App
• Video: Select if the Rear of Front camera should be streamed
On the device running the FS Golf App (iOS version 4.0.7)
• Connect to the WiFi of the Mevo+
• Open the FS Golf App
• Select "Full Swing"
• Make sure Radar Setup is correct >
• Start New Session >
• Select the image of the 4 Squares in the top right corner
• Select Video
• Select the amount of camera views, 1; 2; 3 or 4
• Tap on "No Camera Selected" and select "Configure MultiCam
• On the Video Recording Screen, change the Time before and after impact if needed.
• Select MultiCam 1 and wait for the MultiCam Server name to appear. Make sure to be on the Camera View in the Multicam App
• Select the MultiCam Server and select "Confirm"
• Tap on "No Camera Selected" and select the MultiCam Server Name
To add a second or third camera view using MultiCam App, please follow the same steps above

I‘m using a Multicam scenario with two iPhones. That works fine, although the videos are not synced correctly. Perhaps because I’m using different iPhone models. I’m using this setup for training purposes and sharing the data and video with my trainer. It is a good feature of FS Golf that I can directly share to CoachNow.
The problem is the limitation to 30fps. My trainer would like to see the swing in slow motion.
My question is, if there is only the Flightscope support that I can approach with this problem or are there other forums where I can post this issue. My hope is, that then Flightscope takes care about it.

I've been attempting to use Multicam with Android devices, but the bottom line is, it doesn't work. When accessing the Video screen from the four squares on the screen displayed when starting a new session, when using Android the screen presented doesn't include the 4 different Camera View options.
The lack of information from Flightscope, generally, is very poor, but the disingenuous nature of the information they've made available in respect of this facility has consequences. At least it has for me as I purchased devices for a home studio that don't work. It could be argued that Flightscope haven't specifically stated that it does work, which is true, but the information out there doesn't exclude any platform. It seems that Flightscope prioritise IOS, and Android users need to obtain confirmation that any specific facility they're interested in that is available with the Mevo+, works with the platform. The restricted use of E6 with Android is clear and the same clarity should be made for anything that is platform dependant.
Rant over !

As I noted elsewhere, after I opened a ticket with them about this false advertisement, they confirmed it's something they are working on...
But sadly I had to return my brand new android tablet and get an ipad (the cheapest one I could find anyways)..
And to my dismay... features that were working on Android are now missing in IOS version of FSGolf!!! Wow..
I mean some could be explained by OS differences but the inability to sort data by collumn in table mode is frankly inexcusable in 2023!!!
And don't get me started about the their "cloud" offering... It can't sort or even display tables properly.. and they expect people to pay for storage of videos!?! no thanks. It's basic as hell..
</rant> had to take this off my chest..

Yeah. I agree. But now that are finally coming out with that FSGolf for PC (and supposedly external cameras!) I will definitely explore this option..
I do everything in my garage so I'd rather have higher fidelity in a static setup than messing around with batteries, phones, tablets and stands for them..
