  • Pro Package, Low Point numbers not making sense

I just started using the pro package today. I usually chunk/fat the ball. I hit over 80 shots and all were positive low point numbers, which I understand it to be hitting the ground after hitting the ball. A negative number would be hitting the ground before the ball. I exaggerated fat shots and still never got a negative number. I measured my set up to the exact 8’ from Mevo+ to ball and 10’ from ball to screen.
Any idea what is going on?
    Thanks

Do the ball origin test under the radar settings and make sure it's set to the correct spot.

How positive are we talking? Can you post some dashboard numbers?

You will find an explanation of each parameter directly in the FS Golf app.

Low point is closely related to AoA. Click image for larger version

Nice AoA values. I struggle to get under -6 with most irons and +0.9 with driver would be huge.

I’ll check the ball origin test, but all 80 shots had positive numbers between ~2.9 and 8.8.

And what's your AoA? Do you have the ball distance and elevation set correctly in Radar Setup?

Yes, 8’ from Mevo+ to ball, exactly (measured and set in set up). I chunk like crazy and have never gotten a negative low point number.

I think it’s important to remember this is measuring the bottom of the swing arc relative to the ball. Depending on the AoA you can hit behind the ball and still have a positive low point relative to the ball position. It’s just calculating the path when the club touches the ground. There is to much noise from radar reflection to really see it through the ball and ground. This is why there is a gap in the line graphs for the speed and acceleration profiles.

I didn’t know that. So how am I to know if I’m or someone else is hitting behind the ball or not? I assumed this was either a negative number if hitting before the ball and positive if hitting the ground after the ball. It’s not a very helpful data point if a positive low point could mean hitting after the ball but sometimes before the ball. I’m not trying to be cynical, just a bit frustrated. This is an important data point for me to help myself and others improve their game.

The best way to determine strike consistency is ball speed and smash factor. There are a couple of charts out there that give you a guideline for each club and loft. It does depend on the dynamic loft you are applying to the ball but given that loft measuring smash factor is the best way to check how flush your strike was. For example myself with a 7 iron at 32 degrees (20-23 Dynamic loft) it should be around 1.36 for the smash. Anything less, you either delivered more loft or did not strike the ball first.

Can you explain what this is. I don’t see any information in the manual for the Mevo+.

Ball origin is under the radar settings where you adjust distance and tee height. It's at the bottom.

Dashboard view is selected from the four squares next to the radar at the top right corner of your screen once you're in the range.

Thanks to Adam Hawkins for his picture that makes total sense to me now.
