Different numbers between skytrak and mevo+

    Hi,

i used a skytrak and want to change to the mevo+. I use the l launch monitor in a carport between two houese, the width is 3m, hight 2,85m, mevo to ball 2,4m and ball to net 4m. I ise a Titlist trufeel with dot. Striking is from a 3cm high mat, this is set at the mevo.

I compared skytrak and mevo+ and the carry numbers are on iron 9 pretty much the same, but at longer irons the carry numbers from the skytrak are longer then the mevo, on a iron 7 for example ca 10m. When i changed the ball setting at the mevo from standard to range, the numbers on a iron 7 are similiar again between stytrak and mevo but then the numbers on a iron 9 are loner at the mevo than the skytrak.

Could you please help me and have an idea what cause the differences at long irons and what to do to change this? Thanks.

Can you post some screenshots of the ball data for both? Curious to see how different launch angle, ball speed, spin, etc are.

One possible culprit is that the area isn't level so it might be slightly more or less than 3cm difference by the time you get to the hitting area from the Mevo+.

Edit: and don't do the range ball or elevation adjustment to get the "right" distances. Better to find out what's causing the loss than to band-aid it and affect the accuracy.

If the same environmental conditions (including wind) are set, the average carry distance differs by max. 3m according to my comparison test. What significantly affects the calculation is the back spin.

Even though it wasn't italicized, the 4k spin was probably a misread since you obviously didn't thin it the same way as the 3k spin both monitors picked up.

Data looks close enough to me between the two if you throw out the low-spin outlier.

I was pointing out how spin in the calculations affects the length of the ball's flight.

Oops. Didn't look at the poster name and assumed it was OP giving us another data spread.

        My mistake.

      Thanks for your answers.

I will make some more Swings and post then the ball data here. What i have in remebrance is hat the spin rpm numbers are much lower at the skytrak as at the mevo,

Here are the numbers from 9 and 7 iron. What i noticed is, that the spin rpm at skytrak with the the 7 iron is very low, but the carry numbers seems more realistic than from mevo.

Backspin significantly affects the ball flight distance in the calculations. Note that even with FS you have a 7m longer carry distance (shot 2 vs. 3) with the same ball speed and almost half the spin.

I untderstand this but i don't unterstand why the backspin und carry numbers are on a 9 iron identic and on a 7 iron not. Especially because it was said the skytrak is indoor better to measure the backspin.

We tested skytrak vs Flightscope X2 yesterday. Both setup on different computers running TGC2019. Skytrak would read draw or pull in fairway or left of green. X2 would read push cut to big slice on the same shot. Don't think either provided great overall numbers. Just my opinion.
