FS Golf Version 6.0.0 Update

So far everything is working perfectly with an X3. Looks like one of the best updates in a while. Hitting 3/4 flighted lob wedges was a dream.

I also noticed they added the ball tracer and swing path tracing as an overylay on video playback when recording a video which is cool. Data parameters are also visible at playback of video recordings. One small thing is that if you email the recording out, the recorded video only contains the data parameters as an overlay, not the new tracer overlays which is a bummer. I was hoping to show those to my swing coach as well when he reviews it. Still good stuff and I appreciate the updates.

Just noticed that too. that was a long time coming as there was a demo of that way back..
I wonder if the overlay is added to other sharing method though? otherwise what's the point?
Sharing to flightscope cloud works at least I hope! the website needs work to match the app.
I prefer reviewing large data set and videos on the comfort of my desktop so until they get PC version out then we're stuck with a half-baked website equivalent sadly..
But I'll give them that.. they are still listening and improving which is nice to see.

Thanks for adding the overlay. I use Kinovea and have never taken a video with FS Golf. I will check it out though!

Anyone else having issues on apple? Seems like the last 3 updates fs messes things up on apple. I can load everything and my radar says I am ready to go but everytime I hit a ball it says something went wrong, but that is all it says. My range screen also has that bouncing ball like when it is not ready, but the radar says I am ready. Anyone have ideas?

How much ram is in use under settings when this happens?
Are you on the latest iOS?

Ipad 2020 model, I only use it for the mevo, so I am guessing there is plenty of space. My is is up to date

Can you change your setting’s to extended feedback and submit feedback for both issues. Support really does need feedback. They will probably contact you via email with whatever you have listed for your account.

I just finished my first session with updated app and I love it

1) the club path overlay is a nice feature, I prolly don’t actually need to see this again, but it gave me real confidence that the mevo+ is measuring the club path and not calculating it

2) the ball tracking overlay is the better feature. When working on my swing I always wished I could have my video on one side and the ball flight on the side. While not quite as good as my hopes … it is good enough for my needs

3) the new driving range interface is a modest improvement. It just looks cleaner.

4) the rct ball addition is clutch. Spin rates were exactly where I expected them to be and carry distances are back up to what I see on the course

5) ball flight was more accurate in my opinion. Before it was pretty close but a slightly bad `strike could be accentuated on the mevo … today a slightly bad strike was icky, but not awful

6) for the first time ever I hit a push draw. I have been trying for a while now … really going for a heavy inside out with a slightly closed face tor a while and it could not be done. Today it happened

overall I give this update an A+

I cannot believe there is a better sim for the money… it is almost perfect now

preludesam that is an interesting out of the box idea. I'll look at that later today. Might be odd with toggling back and forth being that I am using an iPad? Easier with a PC, if we had a PC version I would guess. I did post the question to the FS support team and they are checking with the dev team to see if its in queue for a future feature release, a bug, or just not thought of yet. I'll post the response once I get it.

I remember watching the VX App webinar and someone had a question on exporting the speak over the video feature. It’s much like Swing Catalyst when an instructor gives you take home thoughts. They said it was in the works but cancelled because iOS already had that well polished feature. I guess the data also said most users on on iPads so it wouldn’t leave to many people out to dry using a phone or on Android.

I had to manually turn on the mic in settings. Screen capture was great but it wouldn’t record the mic on default settings. It’s actually really easy you can just swipe down from quick access and never leave the app.

Now that we can get impact location on the club, is there going to be adjustment in spin axis due to added gear effect? I wonder if the camera is good enough in the Mevo plus to add that feature? Are the Mevo plus and X3 cameras different?

I doubt it's a function of the camera resolution as much as it's the size, number and frequencies of radar.
Take something like Trackman 4 which has dual radar, it can track club and ball simultaneously..

Isnt the impact location only using the camera?

Originally was thinking that it does seem a function of the camera alone but the dual radar would allow for more accurate tracking of the club head to better locate the strike location(?). Still it seems it’s possible with M+. To create separation with X3 though I would bet best case M+ might see it in a couple years.
