Buying a Flightscope from their Website

Has anyone traded in a Flightscope? I am trying to trade in my X2 Elite to purchase an X3 as its on sale. Flightscope is telling me if I trade in my unit it will be against the full price not sale price. Isn't there some type of law or something stating that they are supposed to sell the unit at the advertised price? If I go to trade in a car they don't bump up the advertised discount due to the trade in.

Does it even matter? Are you going to pursue legal action if there is a law covering this scenario? If so, good luck. Retailers pull this kind of stuff all the time. For instance, Harbor Freight is notorious for raising the retail price on items shortly before offering a "sale" on the same item. My guess is that they have some stipulation of to the effect of "not to be combined with other offers or discounts". To which a trade-in would qualify. Frankly, you're better off buying it on sale and selling the current one on the private market. Little more work, but highly likely to be more cost effective.

I guess it's different in the states. Here in Canada it is illegal and companies don't really do that here. It's very unethical as well.

FWIW, I agree with your frustration and position on the ethics of it. And the example I gave is why I refuse to even shop at HF anymore. I also think there are some laws covering this. But, as I mentioned, it's not worth the effort, time, and/or resources to pursue it for something like this.
