    Replacement charging brick for Mevo+

Im curious if anyone has found a good replacement for the charging brick that came with your Mevo+ ? I wrote to Flightscope customer support and they said it had to be between 5V/2.3A - 5V/2.4A - 5V/3A I remember when I bought my Mevo+ the instructions were clear to ONLY use the included brick. Now they are saying I can use something else so long as it meets these requirements.

Any find a particular brand/model they've had good success with?

I have been using a charging brick that came with my old IPad Air 2. I have been using it now for about a year and a half. I always use the charging cable that came with the mevo+.

Uhhhh…. Is there something special about the cable? Other than it’s only two inches long…. I was going to use another.

Don’t use another cable. According to FS only use the one supplied because another one could damage the circuit board. I don’t know if that’s true but I am not going to risk it. I think there might be older threads on this message board with more detail.

Form my “chat” with FS Tech support this morning:

2024-05-30 13:24:12] [Christopher Rants] Good morning. Yesterday I was asking about compatible charging bricks… and you suggested the 5V/2.3A- 5V/3A to get.

Follow up question - is there any particular requirements for a longer charging cord? I’d prefer to get something longer than the 4 inch one originally included. Anything to be careful about there?
[2024-05-30 13:25:00] [Jason Hale] we suggest a shorter cord for opitmal charging. If you need extended length, rather get an extension cord to plug into the wall outlet.
[2024-05-30 13:27:12] [Christopher Rants] ok….. but a longer cord won’t hurt anything right? Just take longer to charge?
          [2024-05-30 13:32:56] [Jason Hale] correct.
[2024-05-30 13:33:26] [Jason Hale] It might mean that whilst in use the battery still drains, but out of use it will just take longer to charge
[2024-05-30 13:34:36] [Christopher Rants] Ok. Thanks. I know they sensitive.

I have an extension cord I run out to my practice re in the yard - so I can use the short cord there. But inside I’d like to plug it in to a longer cord so it doesn’t have to sit on the floor.
[2024-05-30 13:35:15] [Jason Hale] sounds good, shouldnt casue any issues.

To be honest I have never heard anything close to that about the cord. Good to know that FS says it can be done. With that said, I will stick with the short cord to keep my paranoia in check.
        Working...
