Used Mevo+ Software options

I thought this may be useful for any other folks thinking about buying a used Mevo+.

I'm considering a Mevo+ and trying to decide on the value of used vs new. One of the dings on getting used was whether or not I could get the software transferred and if not what are the options. I chatted with FlightScope support and this is what they told me.

If you cannot transfer E6, you can buy the same perpetual license that comes with the unit for $150 - 10 courses for both iOS & Windows PC

FS Golf mobile apps are free.
FS Golf PC software is $99 - or is included with the Pro package and/or with Mevo+ 2023

What I don't know and will try to find out from Trugolf is whether or not the E6 license will apply to E6 Apex. If anyone knows, please share.

Per Trugolf:

"The integration with the APEX and Flightscope has not been completed yet. We have not been advised of a date. Currently, the APEX has been adding to the E6connect subscriptions. Later they may update for separate license. But we have not been updated on how this will be completed and released"

You are able to transfer E6 sort of. Although you cannot change the email login, you can change all the users info.

I just sold a mevo +, unbound e6 from my iPad and reset the login password.

the new owner was able to change the phone number and everything else to his liking. The login id is the email address isn’t changed but it’s not necessary unless he needs a password reset which can also be accomplished by his cell phone.

Its a bit odd that you can't change the email address associated with a device. I would imagine there is a way via FlightScope support. There is at least a small percentage of people that would register with their work email or an email through their internet provider that would need to change it due to losing access.

Out of curiosity, how much did you sell it for? Did it have any add-ons? What did you replace it with?

It’s not a flightscope issue so they won’t be able to help. Transfer of ownership for the mevo plus really isn’t a problem. Transferring the E6 license is. The email address associated with the license cannot be changed to my knowledge. Regardless, it’s only used for 2 things.
a) login id
b) password reset

the latter can be achieved by sms messaging. So when I sold the unit, the new owner was stuck with my email address as the login but still has control of all other aspects of the account. I’ve seen people use “burner” email addresses where they sell launch monitors with the email address and password to avoid transfer fees which can be substantial (like gc3).

I sold it for 1175 and bought a launch pro which has been great. Don’t regret the decision one bit.
