Over heating or hot weather challenges

It’s been hot where I live. Triple digits heat index hot. On top of that I use my Mevo+ outside on artificial turf, which essentially reflects the heat.

I’ve had issues where the built in camera won’t work when going to the alignment setting, and I’ve had issues where the Mevo just quits recording shots 20 minutes in - not a battery issue as it’s plugged in. It’s easier for me to keep the supporting iPad in the shade though it will sometimes quit working as well.

Just checking in to see if anyone else has experienced problems with their Mevo in the heat, and if anyone has found a creative way to keep it cooler or shaded?

Have you considered building a shade for it? You could even use one of those silver windshield visors, or an outdoor umbrella. Anything is better than leaving it in direct sunlight.

I have. I’ve got a sun umbrella out there trying to protect ME… and even though the canopy is ten feet wide it’s just short of the Mevo. So I was curious what kind of contraption other use. I may just make a lean-to out of wood. Have just wondered how far out over the front of the device can you extend it without causing glitches or interfering with its view? I know it’s sensitive…

Can you post a couple of photos of your layout?

So the Mevo sits at the end , visible in the middle picture. I move it forward and back so I’m not completely wearing on the turf in the same spot. I started with one umbrella, to block the afternoon sun. Then moved it to the other side to block the morning and got an even larger to block the afternoon. But you can see in the last photo, when it’s four in the afternoon I’ve got that umbrella almost vertical to keep me from melting, but it doesn’t extend to the Mevo.

I know, move the umbrella you say… I could but not very easily. Had to build up a flat spot for the base. Everything slopes away from the putting surface and there are a ton of rocks. I’d like to figure out a lean-to or something to shade the mevo. At some point the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze… should stay inside in the A/C…

Nice setup. What is that huge green hitting area/putting green? Did you buy it, make it? Where can I get one?

This may be just what you need:

I needed that idea two months ago…. Those are cool. I’d have to install some poles…. But now you have me thinking…

              I got my practice pad/green from https://proputtsystems.com
