    Newbie Mevo+ Owner Questions

    Hi,
I'm continuing my search for a no subscription launch monitor that is accurate. Unlocked GC3s are very expensive in the UK. I did have a GC2 but Foresight UK will not repair them if they break. Currently have an MLM2Pro with GSPro- works well. But I've got ~4 months before I need to renew the subscription on both.
I've bought a used Mevo + from Ebay to give it test in my environment. I just fit within the indoor specs for distances.
I'm in contact with the seller-
    1) He's not going to use the free E6 bundle anymore. Can he just unbind and reset the E6 password and then send me his login details so I can reuse?
    2) How flexible are the distances, unit to ball, ball to net? Better to for the ball to be right in the middle or closer to the unit or net.
    3) should I get some RCT balls? Dots?
    4) Does spin/Spin axis read well?
    5) Is the Flightscope PC software free to download and use?
    6) I understand E6 works on PC/IOS unlikely MLM2Pro/R10 where it is IOS only- true?

Note- I don't use the sim for online play, just for practice and occasional local buddy matches.

I can help with some of these as I too just purchased a used Mevo+ and was coming from a MLM2Pro. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to use the Mevo yet, so someone might have some more accurate answers, but here's what I've learned based off of hours of researching.

    1. Yes, my seller unbound the E6 from his iPad, reset the password, and sent me his login credentials. I had no problem downloading and logging into E6 mobile and PC with it. I then changed the phone number attached to the account so I can always reset the password going forward.

    2. I keep hearing you want as much space as possible from ball to net. I have 17' and was advised to do 7' from unit to ball and 10' from ball to net. I plan on trying different variations to see if one is better. But I hear you want a bare minimum of 8' from ball to net and realistically, 9' at least.

    3. Bare minimum get some dots. A cheap route is going with aluminum tape and a hole puncher. I watched a couple comparison videos and sometimes the unit struggled to read the spin axis so it did a best guess calculation whereas the RCT ball gave a reading each time. However, the reviewer found that there wasn't a major difference in spin numbers between the calculated vs reads, so it's hard to recommend dropping the money on RCT unless you care about those 200-300 rpm's being accurate.

    4. The biggest complaint I see is that mishits don't translate to accurate spin numbers even with the Face Impact add-on. I wrote in to FS about why the unit can't make a good calculation on spin numbers even with the Face Impact add-on and they gave a very lengthy response as to why it's difficult or impossible for them to do.

    5. Yes

    6. Yeah, I have E6 working on both PC and iOS.

    Hope this helps!

my 2 cents on some questions:

      2. Flightscope told me that 8' to ball / 8' to net is better than 7' to ball / 9' to net. This is because the extra distance away from unit to ball gives more time / wider view of your downswing, which allows more accurate club head isolation / readings. Best to test both configs to see which works better for your situation / environment.

      3. RCT balls seems to provide much more consistent spin readings than balls with dots for me also, and is much more convenient as well. They also last a long time. But, if you prefer practicing with your own preferred brand/model of balls, then you will need to use the dots with them to get accurate readings.

      5. Flightscope PC software is NOT free for original Mevo+ releases. Only the newer Mevo+ releases included it for free. So if you bought a used mevo+, then ask the owner if it comes with the PC software or not. e.g. https://flightscope.com/products/mevo-fs-golf-pc

      6. E6 PC Bundle for Mevo+ is also NOT free with the original Mevo+ and needs to be purchased if your used version is an older model that only included the iOS version. e.g. https://flightscope.com/collections/...for-ios-and-pc

      ----

I have the original Mevo+ and then bought TGC 2019, Awesome Golf Lifetime License, and the Flightscope E6 PC Bundle. Since I didn't buy the Flightscope PC software, for practice I mainly use the Awesome Golf practice range, and the Flightscope IOS version occasionally.

I recommend getting the E6 PC bundle (if not already included with your Mevo+) if you want to do some local buddy round matches, and it also allows you and others to participate in Pinseeker tournaments which is pretty cool. https://pinseekergame.com/

Thanks for your answers. I'm right on the minimum distance edge with my golf simulator setup, I can't move the garage walls!. I should have the unit tomorrow and I can give it a test. Fortunately I've still got a few months of GSPro subscription to use up. I'll be testing the Mevo + against the MLM2Pro, I know the MLM2Pro spin numbers are good.
Sounds like I might need to buy-
        https://flightscopemevo.co.uk/products/mevo-fs-golf-pc for £96
        and possibly https://flightscopemevo.co.uk/produc...for-ios-and-pc for £189
and also some RCT balls for £60+

        More questions-
        1) Will the E6 PC bundle work even if I don't have the original purchasers E6 login?
        2) My hitting area is offset from the center line due to a wooden beam. Can I move the center line in the FS Software? I definitely can in GSPro and I assume E6.

        Thanks for your help everyone.

          1. Afaik, E6 license (be it IOS only or the PC bundle) is bound to the user's account/email that was first used with. So you will need the login of the account that used the license. When I bought my E6 PC bundle, I created a brand new Gmail address just for it so that I could give away both the Gmail and E6 login if I ever sold it or gave it to someone.

          2. Hmm. I think you can in the IOS app but will need to check...
