  • What Is Wrong With FS?

About 18 months ago, I came into a few dollars and decided to pick up a launch monitor. Everything was pretty much on the table. I purchased the Flightscope system pro package with face impact. It was about three grand.

fast forward to now… It hasn't become a regular part of my practice routine. It works properly, but it's a little finicky at the local outdoor range and to be honest what I needed to get out of it took a few sessions and I was good. I fixed my swing path… And when I'm at the range, I don't even bring my phone out of the car anymore. It's my technology off time. So I decided to sell it.

For whatever reason there's a few of these for sale. I took best offer on eBay, which was less than .50 on the dollar. It is what it is. I reached out to trugolf to find out about transferring my NEVER USED E6 license to a new user. They answered as per below – apparently they have no problem with making that transfer, but it's being held up or denied by Flightscope themselves.

I opened up a support ticket and asked why that was. I mean you've got a person here who spent $3000 with their company. You've got a new user who spent almost half that… So two users that they could make very happy by simply filling out the form that was provided below and they just won't do it.

Tonight they closed the ticket without providing any sort of explanation. I don't know how much time it could possibly take them to fill out a form like this for the very expensive launch monitors that turn over to new users… But I ask you… Why would a company that charges $3000 for their small electronic product denies us this basic simple transfer– making an enemy out of both me the former owner and the new owner as well. What the hell is wrong with these guys? I spoke to some smarmy, South African fellow on the phone who just kept repeating that it's their "policy" but you know what? It's now my policy to never spend any more money with this company and to let as many people know why as possible. Take that smarmy South African person.

Without piling on, does anyone have any sort of idea what's wrong with these guys? Why does this need to be so hard?

Hi Matthew, thanks for contacting support. Unfortunately we cannot transfer the special licenses from Flightscope to another account as they are non-transferrable. There is a possibility that Flightscope might allow this.

As you have not purchased your license through TruGolf we will need permission from the company your license was purchased through in order to transfer your license to a new E6 Connect account. You will need to reach out to the partner or reseller that sold you your E6 License and request that they send in a transfer request on your behalf to our authorization department; the email is activations@trugolf.com. The information need for a transfer authorization request is listed below.

    Current owners name:
    Current owners phone number:
Current owners email for the E6 Connect account:
    Product Keys:
    E6 License(s) to transfer:
    New owners name
Email for the new E6 Connect account being transferred to (please make sure new E6 Connect account has been created):

Yeah, this has been known since 2020 when the Mevo+ first came out about the E6 transfer. The issue is with E6 and Flightscope has no ability to transfer the ownership. A little research beforehand would have revealed the need to create a standalone email account that you can give away with the unit.

Fllightscope is offering an excellent product at a competitive price all while not charging a subscription fee and with free software updates. I understand your anger but when you point a finger you have four pointing back at you.
