Flightscope Xi Series Simulation Options

Let's start a conversation on what's expected, rumored, or confirmed to be available for the Xi series (Xi, Xi+, Xi Tour) Flightscope launch monitors.

How many Flightscope Xi series users are out there that would like to simulate real golf indoors?

I've heard rumors of Xi series models to be integrated with E6 Cloud, which was even advertised on the TruGolf site at one point (can't find it anymore). I also know that TGC is being looked at for integration, and have even heard that they've successfully paired the two up, but have not heard that from a official source yet.

Anyone have anything to share on this?

I'm considering buying an xi unit with e6 1.6 that has 15 courses - they're running a promotion to sell the xi and e6 software package for $3,500. Flightscope confirmed what goatbarn previously posted, saying that they don't have plans to add another sim partner at this time.

I would like to get feed back from xi users who use the unit indoors and also from those who use the e6 sim. My setup allows for 8 feet from the unit to ball and 12 feet of ball flight. Is the xi ball flight accurate using the indoor setup? For those who use e6, does it integrate well with xi.

I understand that the graphics are not as good as TGC and perfect golf, but since it's the only sim option, I would like to know if users think it's fun and easy to use for a family. The highest priorities I have, are easy setup for right and left handers to play at the same time and for my wife and kids to use it and have fun.

Xi user here, love it! Use it every day for indoor use and find it very accurate and easy to use. I have 8 feet from sensor to ball and 9 feet from ball to screen. I think additional space for ballflight would be nice for driver, as I don't get accurate readings with it, but every other club is on the money.

I don't have sim, and honestly don't think it's something I'd use that often, but I can play pretty much year round outdoors, so I can see where it might be more desirable for others who aren't in the same situation. I'm a range rat anyway, and the Xi in the garage has been the best investment I've made in my game by far.

That said, $3500 for Xi and e6 sounds like a great deal!

If you want lefties and righties using it simultaneously, be sure you have room for a mat set up that allows the ball to be hit from the same general location (stance mats on both sides of hitting area), otherwise you'll be moving the unit every time.

Thanks for the feedback, it really helps with making the decision to get the xi. I currently have a hitting mat that allows the ball to be hit from the same position for left and right handers.

I have an Xi plus. 8ft from sensor, 12 feet to net. It's so accurate it's scarry. Every club in the bag is spot on.

I use e6 in the winter an it plays great, fast and easy to use. I never played TGC or perfect golf. When I read threads on the other Sims, it seems everyone is asking for it to do this or that, and most of it is already in e6. I think the biggest drawback is cost an graphics quality.

Seriously considering this Flightscope Xi Tour w E6 for sim buildout in new house we're building where there will be a dedicated golf sim / entertainment room in basement.

Now need some advice from people more knowledgable in sim products than me - how is this Flightscope Xi Tour differ than GC2+HMT other than the Flightscope needing more space behind ball but better for lefty and righty to play together? Thanks in advance.

Check out their respective sites for the precise output, but they should be mostly similar in terms of ball/club data. FS is a little cheaper, requires more space, can't measure short chips or putting, and only connects to e6 for SIM. Some of that is a deal-breaker for people.

Am I missing something? I do not see a $3500 deal. I see a $5500 deal. I think I'm jumping in with both feet if it is $3500 with E6 15-pack.

Here's what Flightscope sent me for pricing. I think they no longer promote th xi unit on their website, but the rep said they still produce the xi and will continue to support it with firmware and software updates.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the XI+ and I have a couple of questions for any current owners:

1). What is the shortest shot that the unit will measure? ( I read that chip shots won't measure but will a 30 or 40 yard shot show up?)
2). I'm concerned with the metallic stickers. Has anyone tried metallic paint and will that work?
3). Are there any re-ocuring fees to use the E6 software.

I have the XiTour, on the short indoor mode, and it can pick up shots around 20 yards but not every time. There's a metallic marker you can get from a stationary store that works well. E6 course library is great but once you hit your approach shot there is no putting.

What kinda of additional fees did Foresight hit you with? I'm on fence between CG2 and Xi+. I have up to ~20' of ball flight possible but love fact that CG2 needs much less. This is a difficult decision give the cost. Simulation isn't a deal breaker but with deal Xi+ is less, provides club data and includes Sim package. For a little more can just get CG2 and nothing extra....

Xi+ will not give you club path or face.
No extra fees with the GC2.
If you're into hitting balls for flight, Xi is fine.
If you're into playing golf, Xi doesn't compare with GC2, even without FSX courses.
I had a TM3e and it collected dust.

Club face and path pretty easy to work out from other parameters when you've read Trackman's newsletters (and especially when know Flightscope uses path and ftp to calculate spin axis indoors, no gear effect on FS indoors). This is harder to do on gc2, though in reality very little gear on irons anyway so they would be pretty accurate. The Xi now gives draw/hook/fade/straight spin too, so is effectively giving you an extra parameter of spin axis and hence ftp, from where ball finishes can back calc to get path. Simple with understanding of how they do the calcs
