Does anyone here have experience with the X2 Sensor? I wonder how long it takes until the batteries need to be Replaced?

I bought a second handhand X2C a year or so ago, it was circa 3 years old. The batteries were not in great condition, they are just D size NiMH cells. It was very straight forward to order some replacments on ebay and then replace them. I now have good battery life. Appart from the fact the originals did not hold their charge, it was easy on visual inspection to see that they were starting to discolour and looked like they had seen better days.
