  • Fsx questions

I am currently using FR1 software and happy with it, one thing that really bugs me is during play (have it set to meters) putts that are shorter than 6 meters will show distance in feets and inches?
Maybe someone could check if the fsx software has gotten rid of this?

In the early days of fsx, people were complaining about having to tap on space after every shot?

How is the skills software working now?

When setting the offset- on the fr1 the balls starting position does'nt move until you get to 145 cm (5' ) it still works at shorter setting but the ball starts in the middle of the screen, not were the ball hits the screen.
Wondering if this is now "seamless" on the fsx? As in if i stand 3 feet of center (on a straight shot) will the ballflight start in the center of the screen or 3feet of center where the ball hits the screen?

So i got a demo of the FSX and can answer my own questions:-)
    The putting issue is sorted.

In the skills software you still have to click ok before the next shot. Annoying as hell.

The offset options is actually better on fr1 as it has a function called Field of view scalar, using this you can get the ball to start exactly where you want on the screen. At least i could'nt find it on FSX.

I could not find a boost function? This is really bad as i let my 5 year old hit almost golf balls with boost setting and he loves it. Without the boost it gets boring for him :-)

The option to set the offset etc happened when I installed FSX. I had to measure my screen, hitting distance, offset etc... and my ball shows from where it hit.
If you missed it, there is a utility you can run from within the FSX folder to run it again. I'm not home, so I can't tell you the name of it unfortunately.

I did use the simulator set up tool and it did move it, but not exactly were i wanted it.. Maybe i did something wrong? It's the same tool as for the Fr 1 just a little more modern looking.

        Is there a boost option?

I've never used FR1, so I can't tell you if it's the same utility. I also don't know if there is a boost function? I'm away all week, but can look on Saturday when I'm home if no one else has chimed in by then!
