  • GC2 with Net Return?

When I purchase one I'm going to be using it with my Net Return. For now I have no intention on hooking it up to a projector + screen. Only to display everything on a 50" plus TV directly in front of me.

For anyone out there that just hit into a net, do you have alignment issues while simulating with the GC2?

Align the GC2 parallel to the edge of your mat, so that you're hitting straight.
Then use the keys on your PC to choose where you're hitting in the simulator.
Mad long as you align yourself with the edge of your mat, you should be hitting where you want.

I have a GC2 with Net Return, and I have a 60" tv behind the net. The net makes it a little difficult to see, but I didn't want to swing and then turn to look at the screen. I don't align based on the tv at all, only to the GC2 unit, and with no problems. One day I'll upgrade to a projector but after all the $$ I've put into this so far it's probably going to be a while!

Not sure what you mean by turn to look at the screen? I'm facing the GC2 and the TV is going to be directly on top of it.

I could set it up in the corner on a 45* angle from where I'm facing at address. (My left side) That would be middle ground?

I think what he's saying is when you finish your swing you're looking straight ahead and would have to turn back to see the tv.

When you follow through, you would naturally be looking straight ahead. My son is new to golf, and one of the things he's struggling with is holding the follow through, so I don't want him quickly turning back after hitting the ball. I'm already having to break him of the habit of reaching down to try and stop the ball as it comes back off the net. I definitely wouldn't recommend the tv anywhere that it could possibly get hit by a ball without being protected by the net...I actually shanked one two weeks ago and the angle was 44 degrees right. (I know, I stink at golf) LOL

Either way, I don't think there is any problem in being able to line up. I put a 1"x1" board against the front of the GC2 unit as a guide so we can see the direction we are aiming for (since our "mat" is just outdoor carpet on foam padding at this point and it moves around).

I do have the side barriers, so that should protect the TV. But I know what you mean, anything is possible. I just think it's a shame to set it up on a TV that you can barley see because of the thick netting.

I wouldn't say that you can "barely see" the tv through the netting. It's definitely adequate...we don't even have a monitor other than the tv. A projector would be a significant difference, but the tv is just fine on a budget.
