    New courses

    Hi guys
Spoke with foresight( U.K.) today and there is an update next week to 3.0 and they are giving away 5 free courses to those who have bought fsx in the last year.
Apologies if everyone already knows about it.

Of note. I just went into the updates on Fsx. It currently says it is downloading 5 new courses....interesting....

I'm logging into my FSX remotely just now as I'm away from home, but under updates I have 4 new courses.
I already have 11, but 4 new random ones have appeared in my 'update' list.

        Willow Crest Golf Club
        Linfield National
        Broken Tree
Blue Bayou Golf and Fishing Club

Is the 5th free one Teton Pines? Has everyone got the same free ones, or are they just giving a random selection that you don't already have? Can't complain anyway - a nice bonus!

So apparently working in extra courses into my gc2 sale wasn't really a great deal.

          Same courses I was given.

I was just thinking - I bought mine on a Ryder Cup deal - so got Hazeltine free. I wonder if that was my 5th course?

This is how they are selling FSX now. You get those 5 courses free with the purchase. I'm curious what will be in the 3.0 update. There is still quite a bit that needs to be fixed and improved with FSX IMO.

I wonder if it's the one that includes the zombie driving range and roulette games that were seen at the PGA show? I imagine the main update will be compatibility with the GCQ to be honest - probably over a WiFi connection.

By the way. Blue bayou is terrible. On top of that it was horribly glitchy. Multiple areas of completely black boxes etc. I wasn't impressed.

I loaded up FSX remotely to install the new courses, and had a look at the first few holes of bothBlue Bayou and Broken Tee - and neither look great. They both seem to be swamp with very little fairway. I can imagine them being very high scoring rounds, unless you're very accurate (which I'm not at the moment!).

Hopefully the other 2 are better? Teton Pines is decent enough.

Foresight are probably giving away courses that no one buys.

Over the last 4 months I've been on to Foresight technical support several times about some issues -
and some improvements I would like to see too. Colin said he'd see about getting them in the next update. Hopefully some of these things have been implemented in V3.

One thing I really wanted was to add the TGC style "number of putts".
I never putt on sim golf, but I liked with TGC how you can automatically take 2 putts on each hole - but if you're within 6ft, it's just 1 putt.

When I play FSX, I end up doing 'manual putting' so that I can do that myself. FSX give you the selected amount of putts regardless of how close you're ball is. If I have it set to 2 putts and land my ball 3" from the hole - it still gives me 2 putts!

                            Linfield National
                            Willow Crest
                            Tenton Pines
                            Blue Bayou
                            Broken Tree

These are the 5 courses coming with my FSX... Not impressed that I wasn't able to pick them myself, but the guy told me that's what I was getting. At the price I payed for everything, I can't complain. aeroburner is selling me TGC, so I'll most likely be using that for playing courses, and FSX for mostly game improvement.

I've seen the feedback on this page alone for Broken Tree and Blue Bayou, doesn't seem promising lol. How about Linfield National or Willow Crest? Any feedback?

With the options out there it's crazy having 5 courses. You'll love TGC for playing courses.

Linfield National is like Teton pines. Nothing special but playable and decently enjoyable.
