  • GC2 refurb program

The price point many of us have been quoted is fairly reasonable (~5200) vs the bay units if it avoids transfer fee and carries some warranty from foresight.

Is the catch that they are going to take out the Bluetooth or alter it so the unit will only work with FSX and create issues to use it for TGC?

What price are you getting quoted for an HMT?

        4750 + 50 shipping. total $4,800

To be clear, there is no way they're refurbishing them "to brand new condition." That would basically mean building an entirely new unit and selling it for a lower price. All they're doing is replacing the parts that have a limited life, ie. the flash and battery. The 6 month warranty is to make sure nothing else fails. No way they're replacing all of the internals.

Sorry about your hurt feeling bro. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it. That's not how refurb programs work.

I have zero clue what they are refurbbing but in my business a referb is windex and replacing a few high wear parts.

You might find it's brand new condition to the eye...
When we refurb stuff at my work, we sent it away to get it looking new - as well as repairing / replacing some parts that need it.
In Foresight's case, this may be replacing the battery / flash - and the plastic housing. That way the new owner feels like they are getting a new unit as there are no marks / scrapes on it... and the cost of the housing is probably next to nothing.

i just received mine yesterday from foresight sports canada....is in great condition ..not a mark on it.has a 10xxx serial #...i got the GC2A with protective shield FSX software bundle ( 5 courses..range ..etc) dongle..6 month warranty...paid $9000 CAD..so about $6750 USD....it took less than 2 weeks from the time i called them to get it at my door...seems it may be less of a wait time from foresight in canada..he said they just got some in ,but they would go quick when i inquired 2 weeks ago.

Does the Bluetooth work on yours or are they disabling that on these refurb units?

Final word that we heard from John several weeks ago is that they are not going to disable or otherwise cripple bluetooth on any GC2 units at this time.

EDIT: see post #13 in this thread
as additional info, they recently repaired my bluetooth (got it back a couple weeks ago) and it works with 3rd party, no problem.
