True cost of a GC2

Now is a good time to purchase and directly through Foresight. With all the used GC2 units coming in from people upgrading to the GCQ, you're bound to get a decent deal unless you can find one on these forums. I'd recommend contacting aeroburner.

My Canadian rep quoted me a used unit with FSX and 5 courses + a protective case for $9,000 CAN all in... Which is about $6,900 USD. Mind you, I'm not sure how big of an improvement FSX is from FR1.

Looking into a GC2 or ES16....trying to figure out how much these things actually cost. Please correct me where I'm wrong too.

All I want to use the gc2 for is practice. I don't have room to hit driver, so I won't need the full sim packages anyways. I just want all the data read outs and a driving range type environment (hit at a green, etc).

I believe this requires I purchase the FR1 software, yes? Is there any way I can do my practicing w/o the software?

If I were to buy a used gc2, what additional fees would be involved? Would I have to pay some transfer fee, and purchase the fr1 software? I've read something about a $1,000 transfer fee, and then I need to buy the FR1 software for $1800?? A new GC2 + shield + fr1 is about $8,100...while a refurbished GC2 + fr1 is about $7,100.....so that means I need to find a used GC2 for about $4.2k or less to even save money over the refurbished option? And that wouldn't include the support nor warranty.

Please correct me where I'm wrong and explain it better. Thanks guys

I might be wrong but from what I know you can use the GC2 without FR1 or FSX. You can use the APP on an Ipad or Iphone that will display the information but no simulation of the ball flight. And you can also use the information on the GC2 lcd window.

Good luck finding a gc2 as cheap as people say. I guess if your super patient and you wait you might find a deal. I looked for a month and really didn't find anything at a great savings. I feel it's the other way around with the GC quad costing so much and not being able to use the TGC I think people are raising the price on their GC2. I feel like those who found great deals already had simulators, and as time went by deals came available and they jumped on it. I just didn't have the patience I'm trying to build met Sim now.

GC2 is always going to be a great piece of equipment as long as it's still working. It's future proof, no matter how many new gadgets come out, at the end of the day all that matters is the accurate ball data and you have a viable sim option. Software can be changed and upgraded for years and the GC2 can still spit out the numbers to that software.

Couldn't have said it better myself, main reason why I picked up a GC2 right before the GCQ launched.

Currently only using the GC2 with FSX, but aeroburner hooked me up with TGC and I should be getting it tonight. Can't wait. I'm pretty impressed with FSX's courses, the putting needs a lot of work though. Their driving range and skill challenges are amazing too, I find myself using those more than the courses as my game is still in a "needs improvement" mode. Once everything is polished up I'd imagine I'll spend less time on the FSX range and more time playing TGC.
