    Playing today FSX online

    Friends,

been hanging for 30min now if someone wants to come and play FSX online. I am hosting a Teton Pines, white tee's Iron shoot-out (no drivers) with auto putting (as I cannot putt well in my living room).

Will hang here at least until 12:30 Eastern / 18:30 Central European Time if someone wants to join.

    Br,
    Tonni

    Another day, another try.

I am hosting an online play with FSX 3.0 today at 8am Eastern, 1500 Central European Time . Another at 10am Eastern, 1700 Central European depending on the number of players in the first game.

Playing Teton Pines from white tees, no putting.

You are more than welcome to join.

When you say auto putting, what do you have it set to?

I find FSX auto putt really poor.

If I set it to 2 putts, and land the ball on the green within a foot... it still gives me 2 putts. Surely no one takes 2 putts for a foot.

If I set it to 1 putt, then I get 60ft putts in 1 shot!

I always use 'manual putt' now. If my ball is within say 6ft, I choose 1 putt, and anything higher, 2 putts.
TGC lets you do something like this automatically.
I asked Foresight about doing it this way automatically, and they said they would hopefully put it into a later version. I see they never bothered for V2.4 and haven't done it for V3.0.1 either.

I tried to join about 10mins ago, but kept getting connection error. I tried 5 times before giving up!

Very sorry guys. Seems like there's something wrong with FSX online play. I saw last night the hosting screen flicker but always return to steady state and not give me any error messages. I will call their tech support to figure out what it might be.

There seems to be a lot of bugs in FSX still. For example, the new 3.0.1 does not recognise my GC Quad and I have to thus use the old 3.0.0.

I was using V3.0.1 yesterday. It took 2 shots and about 10 mins to connect to my GC2. Once it was connected, it worked fine.
Maybe I could connect to your game as we were both on different versions?

Lets try again today. I would propose 1200 Eastern / 1800 CET as the time.

I will update my FSX to 3.0.1 and try to get it working. I will also hang here in the forums.

If you guys try in and have a problem please msgs me. We can then try with you as the hosts to see if it works.
