Any hidden costs after buying refurb unit?

hey guys, I was looking st the refurb thread and I'm thinking about upgrading from the skytrak to the GC2 perhaps. On top of the sale price is there any hidden costs to get everything running? I also have TGC for skytrak as well as JNPG, are they transferable over to GC2? I don't want to have to spend big bucks again for the sim options.

TGC is definitely transferrable, not sure how PG works with that. A cheap bluetooth dongle (10-15 bucks), usb extension cord to get the bluetooth dongle near the GC2 (10 bucks), and possibly a protective shield for the GC2 if you want one (used - 50-150, new: plastic- 150 / metal - 300).

Thats basically all you'll need extra money wise.

You Skytrak ship jumpers are all the same. Pffft...

Lol!!! I'm soooo jealous. So Skytrak is basically a gateway drug right?

All seriousness, good luck brother and I'll be talking to you soon.

Haha, I'm not there yet. I'm thinking of selling my jeep so I figured I'd start looking into upgrading a bit for the long haul. But once the nice weather gets here I'll probably wanna keep the jeep so I'll be stuck putting to the right forever lol.

Having to walk to and fro is really not that big of a commitment. I say go for it!

Glad you asked the question though, have been wondering the same. I wouldn't need a range because I spend all of my range time in TGC now so that would work great.

Lol the jeep is just my "fun" vehicle but if it means getting a GC2 I may have to part ways with it. I won't even walk on the golf course never mind anywhere else

Thanks for the info. Does the GC2 get no reads? The skytrak is driving me crazy lately with all the no reads. It's so frustrating having people over and it not reading 20 shots a round between the 4 of us.

Many were getting a lot of no reads after the latest Skytrak update. Maybe that's the issue?

I hardly ever get them. Weird.

The only no read I get on my gc2 is once every few rounds on a 100-105 shot. I find if I put the ball at the top,of the FOV it doesn't happen. It's rare.

I honestly haven't had a no-read with my GC2 since I got it, except for when I was testing the limits of reading a flop shot (which is pretty high).

Agree with the others for sure. If the light on the gc2 is green it reads every single time. Haven't had a missed shot yet so far.

Closest thing I've had to a missed shot is just not realizing I didn't have the ball fully in the FOV and the light wasn't green before I swing. Obviously that's all me though

did you end up pulling the trigger on this Jwheels9876? I'm thinking about it also. are the refurb unit gc2's or gc2a's? ummm, also...what is the difference?

also, for existing users, if i mount this in the protective case and butt the front up against a straight edge, is the unit aligned with that straight edge?
