    Gc2 HELP!!

I've just installed fr1 software and the green dongle is plugged into pc. When I launch fr1 software and go to the range it doesn't pick up the gc2 shots. So I go to options and Bluetooth and it just says status 'idle'. Can anyone please help me?

Two things. First, if possible, connect via USB. I always found that was the most reliable for FR1. Second, go to settings, devices, Bluetooth and be sure you are 'connected' and not just 'paired'.

Have connected via USB and still not working. tried to install the gc2 driver and it says install failed. Please help anyone. I'm running Windows 10. Am I right in saying that in order for gc2 to work with fr1 I need a Bluetooth adapter for my pc?

When I try to install the GC2 driver I get this message: You have to run the 64 bit version of dpinst.exe on this machine. Contact the vendor.

        Any help appreciated

I tried that Ron but still wouldn't work. Gonna reformat my system and reinstall windows on Tues so hopefully that works.

              Reformat bit drastic...

what version windows10 you have, I know creators version update causing problems with some Bluetooth layers.

Have you installed the correct drivers for your gc2 firmware? There are two versions for windows10 depending on your current firmware.
Take FR1 out of the equation, until you Pair and Connect to GC2 through windows10 Bluetooth, then no software will work with your GC2.

Uninstall drivers and install Old driver if you have v3.x gc2 firmware or new driver if you have v4.x

Last resort I could remote teamviewer onto your PC and check if it maps my connection, I wrote some software to connect to GC2 through bluetooth and extract shot data just to see what comes out.

              Regards
              Mark

                Hi mark,

So am I right in saying for Bluetooth to work I need a Bluetooth adapter for my pc? I assumed the green fr1 dongle was a Bluetooth adapter in itself. Is that incorrect?

Secondly I am running the latest gc2 firmware. And I tried to install the latest drivers.i am not able to install any gc2 drivers as I keep getting the error message as mentioned above.

Not sure what version of Windows 10 but I was going to reformat anyway as i have a new mobo, processor and an SSD coming on tuesday. So was hoping a fresh windows install would do the trick.

Haven't got FR1, but I presumed it was a security key only, regardless you can test with a USB. But as you said, you have got to get the drivers installed before anything!
So try a reinstall and let us know how you get on, just google how to get windows10 version.
                  Good luck

Green dongle is not Bluetooth, purely security key. USB should work but as previously stated if you have v4.x firmware you need the latest driver. If you have 3.x firmware you need "original " driver off foresight's website. You also need foresight components 1.3 for fr1 to work in windows 10.

Thanks stingreye. I'll buy myself a Bluetooth dongle, namely an Asus usb-bt400, for when I start using other software. Already got foresight components 1.3 thanks bud!

Just a quick update.... reinstalling windows did the trick. Fr1 works perfectly with my GC2 now and I'm very happy!
