  • Gc2 Protective case??

Just purchased a Gc2, and was wondering what is the best protective case while using it. I see eBay has some but thought I would check with you guys. Thanks

The foresight one that’s not metal is a glorified dust cover. I can tell that I have shanked and hit balls off the toe and never come close to hitting it. I have heard of people hitting them just seems like it would be tough to do.

that being said th Ebay one looks pretty good and I have been tempted to buy it. I know one other sim golfer that has it and is happy with it.

If you have kids, or bad golfers, I'd say its a must. My son took about 10 swings before he hammered it dead on. So glad I had built my own cover for it. Basically a simple box similar to what you see online, with plexiglass in the front. Worked great!

I have two foresight shank tanks one black and the other silver, one stays fixed in sim room, other for the range, as we coach juniors they are highly recommended but expensive.

If you have a HMT make sure the shank tank is the newer model with the cut out for HMT arm, some older ones don't have it.

I also have one of the Foresight metal "shank tanks." I was able to find a used one on Ebay pretty cheap (around $35 I think) that was missing the back piece. I really like it and feel better letting other people play when it is on. They come up from time to time for sale on here. The plastic one on Ebay has a thread discussing it here.

If you are mechanically inclined, you could make something similar at a laser cutting service like Ponoko. Somebody on here made one with wooden sides and a plexiglass front with cutouts for the cameras and flash.

I’ve just got the Foresight plastic one. It’s not for fear of me hitting it, it’s more for the rebound off the screen and bouncing along the floor!

I had the little black plastic/composite one from FS as well. Never came close to hitting the GC2 but glad I had it. For me, it was more of an insurance for bouncing balls off the screen and so on as others mentioned. I suppose the metal one is the best option from FS but after having it for a day, I quickly sent it back and bought the plastic one. That thing to more of a pain and certainly not as portable. These machines are to expensive not to have something covering it... there's some cool ideas for home made one's around the forum too.

We were looking into getting the metal cage. I already have the plastic one at home. We were told by foresight that protection wise the metal one is no better.

why then would you even sell the metal one? and have it cost as twice as much?

I'm expanding my simulator room and might be renting it out to some members at my club. Has anyone bought this? Can anyone give feedback on the quality of it?

If you need a protective case, you can find me and customize a batch of gc2 protective shells. Like the original ones, the materials are aluminum and iron.
