  • GC2 showing dashes

Hi everyone. Now that golf season is ending, I've turned on my GC2 for the first time in 7 months. It starts up fine, finds the ball in the hitting zone as usual, but then when I hit the ball rather than showing me all of the numbers it instead just shows a series of dashes next to each item. I never had this problem before and don't even know where to start to fix this. It's seemingly just not reading anything. Everything else is the same as last year - same room, same light, same mat, same clubs, etc. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Flash maybe? Do you have a replacement flash you can swap with?

Does it show that on all shots or just some? It is likely the flash but even a bad flash will give some readings.

I've taken about a dozen swings and all I'm getting is dashes. I bought it brand new last year and so only used it for maybe 4 or 5 months. I do not have any spare flash (I'm not even sure what that is actually).

If you bought it brand new, you should have a spare flash with it.

Thanks guys. Sure enough I do have a spare - right in the original box. I hadn't noticed it before. Can someone kindly explain to me how I replace the existing one with the spare? I looked at the GC2 and it's just not evident to me where it's located exactly and how I remove it. I don't want to mess around with it since it's an expensive device obviously. Thanks again.

Replacing the flash worked. It's definitely odd that it needed replacement - I only used it for 1 winter and there's no way I took more than a few thousand swings at most with it. Maybe it was just defective. I hope it's not expensive to replace next time! Thanks again for helping me with this!!!

Mine started showing dashes last night on the 16th hole with 4 of us playing. After 6 shots in a row I restarted the gc2. It worked fine afterwards. Mine also has only a few months of use and about 40 rounds on it.
