  • GC2 with HMT & FR1 Software advice

I am thinking of investing in GC2 with HMT FR1 software secondhand, Wondered if somebody would kindly give me a heads up on the following.
    1. Are there any yearly licences/ subscriptions I need to purchase with the GC2 to use it as a stand alone club / ball data driving range facility?
    2. This person is selling with FR1 software, does that give you course playing straight out of the box or again do I need to pay yearly subscriptions and or licences? If so what are the costs ?
    3. Are there any other questions I would need to consider asking before purchasing regarding the unit which may prove important regarding the unit in the future.
I am not that interested in playing simulator golf but more as a training tool to be used as an upgrade to the Skytrak what I am currently using.
All advice would be much appreciated
    Many Thanks

    1) no
    2) no need to pay if you have dongle and software including the courses hey bought.
    3) an “a” unit should bring more money. Super flash units should cost more money. “A” is only needed to hook up to an IPad. Superflash is a more durable flash that will last longer.

if you really want range and improvement. FSX would likely be an good upgrade at a future date. You can integrate a web cam with FSX and it works excellent for range/swing work.

Hope that’s helpful! Be aware if you ever need work done on the gc2 you will need to pay a $500 registration fee for a used unit.

I used FR1 for a year until a recent FSX upgrade and it is a perfectly good piece of software. Great range that is almost identical to FSX. Comes with 1 course included - no annual fees.
