    GC2 - GSX Input Disconnected

My computer did an update and the result seems to be that my GSX Input is coming up as Disconnected. I uninstalled and then reinstalled my ASUS USB BT400 Bluetooth device and that didn't work.

Under the device manager, it shows 5 different Bluetooth devices, which seems to be more than usual. I've got:
    - ASUS USB BT400
    - Foresight_GC2 11234
    - Intel Wireless
    - Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (I don't recall ever seeing this one before)
    - Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator (same comment)

I have the Intel Wireless one disabled - I recall from the past that I had to do that to get everything working. With that in mind, I tried disabling the 2 new Microsoft bluetooths but that didn't help.

I'm not even sure why there is both ASUS and Foresight listed there. That seems new too but maybe I just don't remember from last winter.

I also tried rebooting the computer after I reinstalled ASUS. And I tried hitting test shots and then trying to slide over the GSX button hoping it would connect on the input but no luck there either.

I considered deleting the Foresight Bluetooth but I'm afraid to do that. If I delete that one, how would I find it again to reinstall it?

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks everyone.

I bet the port changed. Check your ports. Also be carful, one of the pics in the gsx thread is wrong.

Check your comms ports. Go to Bluetooth manager. other settings and check what ports are active for incoming / outgoing. It should say Com 3 / Com 4.

Go onto GSX settings and select the ports tab. its hard to see but there is actually a scroll down on that tab. People often think there is only com 1 -3 but if you scroll you will see many more ports. Select whatever port you saw on the settings (normally com 4)and the GSX should connect.

Had it happen to me yesterday with the update. I updated all drivers and Bluetooth settings. None of it worked until i tried the above. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. I went and checked the Bluetooth manager and it says Com3 and Com4 so that looks good. I then went into GSX Settings and top left "Connect With" says "Generic Serial" and then for the "Serial Port" it's set for Com 3. I assume that's right? But then below "Connect With" is "Connect to" and for that it says ProTee Golf Interface, which sounds ok I guess but then to the right of that where it says "Serial Port" it says "Select" with a drop down menu but it's gray rather than white, so that you can't choose anything. Below that it says IP Address and says 127.0.0.1. So it seems weird that I can't choose anything for "Connect With" since it's grayed out. Any ideas?

Note also - one of the tabs on this page says "ProTee" and when I choose that tab it asks whether playing with The Golf Club and the "no" box is checked. I changed it to yes to see if that might help but it didn't.

        Any thoughts appreciated!

Outgoing com on PC needs to match the com in GSX. It's likely 4. Here's mine.

I think the pic is blurred. My outgoing is 4 and GSX is 4

How do I confirm that the PC outgoing is 4 and GSX is 4? (Also my issue I think is the incoming not the outgoing - does that matter?)

              Garry,

Under Com Ports on GSX. Click it to Com 4.

When you first click it will show

              Com 1
              Com 2
              Com 3.

There is a Com 4 but you need to scroll down on it. It's not great as its very hard to see. Click and hold slightly to the right of where it is the Com 1,2,3 and push the mouse up. Com 4 will show then. Click it and all should start working after you reconnect.

On PC select Bluetooth settings then com ports. See what the outgoing is and make the com in GSX matches. No outgoing on the PC? Add one.

Thanks very much! Changing it to Com4 was all that it took. Go figure. Thanks everyone for taking the time to help. Much appreciated!

golfsimulatorforum to the rescue again! Last night my son and I went out to play some TGC, and the computer had done an automatic update and we weren't getting any connection in GSX. It took me about half an hour to get it figured out, but I don't think we would have EVER gotten it without the help from everyone on here! The problem ended up being that the GC2 wasn't really paired with the computer, even though it said it was. I had to delete it in the bluetooth settings, and then repaired it. Once I did that, the COM ports for incoming and outgoing reestablished themselves automatically, we matched up the serial port in GSX with the outgoing COM port in the bluetooth settings, and bam...back up and playing some golf! I even beat my son for the first time in quite a while!
