Another very satisfied customer from the UK.

I needed an upgraded board plus a flash unit to hold as a spare, and Andy provided not only the units, but some great advice and links to videos etc to make the job as easy as possible. Delivery to the UK was extremely fast, and I had the new board fitted within 15mins thanks to his help.

Cannot recommend Andy's service enough, Thanks a lot!!

gc2flash@gmail.com is the email, and Andy's replies are rapid and super helpful.

Send me an email at gc2flash@gmail.com. You may need an upgraded power board with that serial number. I can give you some options on how to go about doing that.

Hi Andy, recently was able to pickup a GC2 with a A6xxx serial number and the unit is working great but thinking of pickup up a flash just in case. Ship to Canada?

I recently upgraded to a GC2 and needed to get my power board upgraded by Andy for a new flash. I shipped it to him and within 12 hours of Andy receiving it he was able to upgrade it and ship it back to me. He has very fair prices and works faster than anyone would expect him to. Highly recommended! Thanks again Andy

thanks for the response. yeah it was a long time ago when i got it from you, back in 2018! lol
had some neck, shoulder and elbow injuries so took a couple years off of golfing, but got back into it last year.
had been playing on the sim a lot in the last year.

i think my serial number is the in 5000s.

i'll send you an email shortly. thanks!

Hi Rich, the first thing to check is if you have the newest firmware installed, which is 4.0.0.15 and can be found here. https://www.foresightsports.com/support/hardware/gc2

I don't see any messages from you or emails, but I have to clear out my messages on here pretty often because my quota gets full. The only other thing to check would be your flash power board revision inside the GC2. I think foresight switched to the newest Rev N3 around serial number A9000, but there doesn't seem to be a clean break between N2 and N3 based on my informal polling of customers. If you want to email me at gc2flash@gmail.com, I can send you directions for checking the revision.

The flash itself is pretty simple. It is just a bulb and a transformer that boost the voltage so that the bulb can flash. There's nothing about it that should affect the distance that the GC2 is reading since all it does is provide light for the cameras. The amount of light it outputs is greater than the old style flashes, so if you have something white or reflective in the background, that may interfere with the readings.

    hi andy,
So I bought your flash a couple years ago in preparation for the day i needed a replacement.
anyway, the day finally came amd i swapped out the old with the megaflash, and noticed 2 things.
    1) my distances are a lot shorter. Last week with the old flash I was hitting 9iron about 145 yards. With the new flash, best I got after 5 shots of really going at it was 119 yards
    2) a couple times, after the gc2 locking on the ball, I would hit, and the gc2 screen would go blank and the green ball lock/ready light would be solid green and I'd have to reset the gc2.
    any thoughts on these?
    Thanks!

It will depend if your power board has been upgraded already, as Instron4204 pointed out. You can follow along with this video to check. At the 1:15 point, you will see a sticker that says Rev N, N2, or N3. https://vimeo.com/88369475 You will also want to upgrade your firmware, which can be found here. https://www.foresightsports.com/support/hardware/gc2 If you need to upgrade the power board, I would have you send it to me to upgrade which takes a day. Then I would send it back with your new flash. The upgrade costs $25 and the flash is $150. Feel free to email me at gc2flash@gmail.com if you have other questions.

You might also want to check and see if the Power Board was upgraded to an 'N3'. Should have a sticker on the board. If it was, you should be good to go.

Send me an email at gc2flash@gmail.com. You should be able to just replace the filter. I have them custom cut to size

Andy, was wondering if there was a way to replace the infrared filter on the front of one of your flash modules? I had someone hit the flash yesterday and now have a crack in the glass filter. Probably going to purchase another one of yours for back up to back up but just wanted see if you had a part number for the filter?
    thanks,
    Lang

Yeah, I usually put down a value of $10 or $15 when shipping to the UK to help with taxes. I am only using UPS or FedEx for international shipments these days after the post office lost several packages. It usually adds about $35 for shipping to the UK, so total is about $185. You can send me an email at gc2flash@gmail.com or a message on here and I can get you an exact shipping price.
