  • GC2 or GC2-T

I’ve been looking into adding a GC2 or GC2-T use with my TGC and have the following questions:

    1. Reading through several forum messages is the only way to connect the GC2 to computer via Bluetooth with the dongle within 6’? Couldn’t the connection be just through the USB cable?
    2. Will a permanently installed 30’ USB repeater cable in the room ok or will this length may cause issues?
    3. I was also looking into the GC2-T and using the USB for computer TGC connection and then the Bluetooth for the IPad connection for the GC2 screen display, is this possible?

Usb will not work with most 3rd party software (software you don’t buy through foresight). Only Bluetooth.

you will need to use a usb extension to get the Bluetooth dongle close to your gc2. I know someone who uses a usb2.0 over Ethernet adapter to run the usb connection over long distances.

You cannot connect to two devices at the same time (iPad / computer). So it won’t work.

i would get a normal gc2 over a gc2-t, unless you are getting it for less money. The lcd screen is nice to have. It also nice to be able to check while playing the sim if you hit the ball poorly or if you just miscalculated the rough penalty.

I just learned of the GC2-T availability this week for a 1k savings but I’m not sure it’s even a good purchase at that price point? Seems like having the data right in front of you is real reason for the investment. Thanks for the info.

The GC2T would need to be substantially less money. For 1k you get a display, a light, a speaker, a battery, ability to add an HMT and it's fold up and portable. They GC2T failed due to it being way over priced.

If it’s 3.5k or under, I think many would jump on it. If used only on a Pc sim computer you can put gsx or pg ‘s interface on a second monitor and get the data. I wouldn’t pay more than 4k ish for it. Most used gc2’s with lcd screens are going for around 4k ish. Refurbs from foresight are a little more. I forget the exact dollar amount but it’s on their website.

This is just my opinion though. You will like it’s actual performance in sim and there shouldn’t be a difference.

Also are they including a dongle and software for you ? Software is worthless without dongle.

No software included so I just planned on using it with my TGC via the GSX which I already have installed. The computer will be around 12’ away from GC2 and is in a metal cabinet Bluetooth connectivity will be an issue. The USB repeater cable was going to go around the room to the same side as the GC2.

So the USB cable would be for the Bluetooth adapter (under $20) which would end up being located close to the GC2. From what you’re telling me the dongle is only for the GC2 software users? Another issue is getting the GC2-T for under 4K would still be less the $500 to register with Foresight which to me is a the way to go. I would think any dealer selling these would include the registration but I guess not?

I doubt it’s registered with foresight. Yes you use the usb cable to get the Bluetooth dongle close to your gc2. Then you are golden👍.

The $500 registration is only needed when you need a repair or flash from foresight. I doubt the dealer is including the registration if it’s used.

I don’t now the market for the gc2-t but I would have to believe it would sell quickly under 4 k used because the older gc2 ‘s under 4k are gone very quickly.

I had both and did not like the gc2-t mainly because of the lack of a screen. I returned it after a week and foresight was nice enough to let me trade it for a gc2.

I saw a video of a Gc2T outputting it’s data to an iPad app. Does anyone know if that app is available still?
