Do I need access to the old computer to activate the software on the new computer? I logged into my fsx online account, could I deactivate the old computer there, or do I need physical access to the old computer? Thanks

Sorry to thread-jack - but this may be helpful to others as well:
What about if the software isn't registered under your name - you bought the PC with FSX already installed. If someone wants to reformat the drive or wants to install it on a different PC - how does one go about it?
Is there a way like FR1 to simply copy over folder files to a new PC. With FSX online license validation I wouldn't think it's possible.
Does anyone know?

That is what I though, not got FSX yet but wanting to buy 2nd hand, but I presume if you buy the non-dongle version (online activation) 2nd hand, they basically give you their login/password to their foresight profile and you change all your details and change password. Then you can de-activate and activate as many times as you want on a computer, but only allowing it to run on one computer as a time. So sort of like the dongle version but you have to manually de-activate and re-activate through the web interface.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have only moved my copy once. I have no idea how many times they let you deauthorize and reauthorize.Originally posted by vrpunkThat is what I though, not got FSX yet but wanting to buy 2nd hand, but I presume if you buy the non-dongle version (online activation) 2nd hand, they basically give you their login/password to their foresight profile and you change all your details and change password. Per the FS rep I spoke with, there is no limit. I inquired because I was considering purchasing the dongle and what that would run to “upgrade”. The response was I could just log in & switch between my laptop & PC at will.Last edited by Point280; 02-09-2018, 10:42 PM.

How does one deauthorize the software/courses? Through Foresights website? Assuming I would need the license key? How can I get that license key if I didn't install the software myself and it simply resides in the PC I purchased (pre-installed).
Thanks for the response Stingreye

I purchased from a member here. He created a login for me. I was able to log into the performance.foresightsports.com website. I then deactivated it. Then I went to the program and entered the same username/password and license. It told me to get a valid authorization code. Is the license and authorization code different?

It’s actually quite easy. Go to performance.foresightsports.com. Create a profile. Then have the seller deactivate the license. Then you start up fsx enter your username password and the license number. Make sure you enter the license by keyboard. Do not copy and paste. Then once it starts running, you’ll be able to see that the license appears on your profile.

I have deauthorized and re-installed FSX on different machines at least 10-15 times in the last two months. So no issue. You don't need access to the old PC, you can just log into the online account and go to the licensing section and deauthorize there. Then just add the key to the new computer.
