  • I'd like an HMT

New owner to GC2 and now I'd like to get an HMT for it.

I've looked on EBay and here but they don't seem to come up separately. Is my only option purchasing direct from Foresight ?

Also, I see the first thing I have to do when I mount the HMT is to download the latest firmware from Foresight. Will there be a cost involved?

And, I also see the latest firmware has been less then what was expected, does this still hold true ??

I know Foresight had them last month for $4900. Not sure you’ll find one for much less. You could probably negotiate to not pay the transfer fee for your GC2 if you by it from them. Worth trying, in my opinion.

I will be selling my GC2 and HMT in the near future (upgraded to the Quad). I'd sell the HMT separately. It is currently at Foresight getting the LEDs repaired/replaced or so they think that is the issue. Apparently, these can wear out. This was news to me. Anyway, it should be in top shape when I get it back. Congrats on the GC2!

No cost to upgrade the firmware.

I never had an issue with the latest firmware with TGC, E6 or JNPG.

I have one I will sell for $4250 shipped and insured. It was purchased in mid 2016, comes with all brackets, cable, stickers, etc.

Don't mean to hijack, but to the 2 posters above that own or have owned the HMT...what software do you use with it? Can the data be fed into TGC or do you need to have FSX software from Foresight?

iPad app is free and has HMT data. FSX and FR1 have hmt data. TGC I don’t think it does. PG only has it available if you overlay the console/gc2 interface to the game.

Feeding HMT data into TGC is a waste of time IMO. You’ll notice that GSX lists club data so I’m sure it’s possible. The thing is all you get is the same data that shows on the screen so what’s the point? My opinion.

I use iPad and GC2/HMT at the range.

You can see HMT data on the gc2 screen while playing TGC. So there is no need for it to show on TGC.

Do you get 2 screen displays when you use the HMT ? One with ball data and one with club (HMT) data. If, so can you toggle between the two.

What does the Ipad app do ? Is it just another way to look at the GC2 screen ??

The GC2 alternates between ball data and hmt data, maybe like 5 seconds on each screen. If i want to see the data while playing TGC i turn the backlight on on the gc2 and it's easy to see.
Ipad app shows even more data points, ballflight and you can save sessions. (there is an app that mirrors the gc2 screen aswell, but i don't really see it beeing useful for anything)

I have an HMT question. The GC2 screen shows rate of closure number different than FSX. What's the difference?

I have not used the rate of closure on the gc screen. I chose to show lie instead. But will check it out.

                        Just did :-)
The GC2 screen shows rate of closure in rpm instead of dps (degrees/second) Don't know why it's not user changeable?
But easy enough to covert. Just multiply rpm x6 and you get dps

Is there an A before the serial number? A29xx? If not your unit is not compatible with Apple unless you send it into Foresight for an upgrade.

Yep, you got cheated if you were told it would work with an IPad. The Android app is outdated and doesn't seem to work at all.
