GC2 shot to show increases the longer I play

Hi Guys

I have a GC2 and I play all of the software with it. I have a higher end Asus gaming PC. I have a Asus BT400 bluethooth adapter. I have a USB 3.0 usb extension cable. I plug that into a USB 3.0 port into the PC. I have noticed that the longer I play there is a significant shot to show delay. It starts at basically zero shot to show. After about an hour it will have about a 2 to 3 second shot to show delay.

I thought it might be the bluetooth adapter heating up and then because of that it slows down. But it isn't warm to the touch. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any possible ideas or solutions to stopping the shot to show delay.

It is set correctly. It happens with all software. FSX, TGC, JNPG and E6.

Chances are you have failing cooling fan/fans.

When modern processor chips heat up they decrease their clock speeds to keep from destroying themselves. Usually there is some software in the system which you can access to observe chip temperatures. See what they are upon startup and what they are when you experience the slowdown.

The GC2 numbers come up immediately.

I agree with Ronsc1985. Since it shows up quickly on the GC2 it must be the computer, and changing over time like that is a classic overheating symptom.

Ditto on andygg1986 Ronsc1985 ... classic overheating symptoms. Try using a tool like hwinfo or any of a bunch of manufacturer provided tools for monitoring/tweaking cpu/gpu performance

Has it always done this or just since Feb/March 2018....my machine was doing something similar and I am running a 1080ti. I built a small debug app to see what was happening with the bluetooth data, I noticed the comms varied from GC2 to my app and was not GFX card related, I ended up re-installing the drivers after the windows update and have had no problems since.

You could try a 3rd party app like bluetooth analyser (free on windows store), connect to your GC2 and see how fast the comms is

As for heating, get a app that beeps an alarm when a certain temp is reached (CPU and GPU), so whilst your playing you might get some feedback at certain events firing when playing on certain courses that are memory / gfx hungry.

Just in case you are using the GC2 on battery only and not plugged in when playing.

As the battery dies down it will still show shot info on the GC2 normal and may work fine for just that for hours, but I have had the time to show the shot in the sim get way slower. Plugged back into power and was fine.

The reason to not have plugged in for me when playing was to move the unit easier for right and left play.

If you are on power all the time then this obviously is not the reason.
