My home course is having Taylormade demo days and I'm really curious about hitting the 790 irons to see how they compare to my Mizuno's and wanted to take my GC2 to the range with me. However our range uses limited flight balls and I'm not sure how that will affect that numbers displayed. Anyone have any experience with limited flight balls and getting an accurate idea of what is happening?

Foresight says they don't recommend using a range ball, but to me it didn't make much of a difference when I compared it with Trackman outdoor. Primarily in my opinion, is because GC2 doesn't take track of the ball all the way anyway, only needs a few seconds to capture the image. So for me using indoor with a premium ball and outdoor with a range ball really didn't see that much difference in ball data vs Trackman.
I would just use the iPad or FSX and just mark it as a Range Ball (you do have an option) and try that out, or try by unchecking Range Ball and try both and compare too.

All I can say is don’t hit those P790 irons unless your prepared to spend the money, Haha cause you will want them immediately. But at 1599.99 Cdn I just couldn’t pull the trigger this year. I lose sleep over it haha
I hit them a few times now and they are just the best irons I’ve ever hit.

Keep in mind that normal range balls and limited flight range balls are not the same. The reduction usually has little to do with the aerodynamics, instead the limited flight range balls are typically designed to come off the face with roughly a 15-25% reduction in the initial ball speed.Originally posted by LEO MODE View PostForesight says they don't recommend using a range ball, but to me it didn't make much of a difference when I compared it with Trackman outdoor.
