Advice on buying used GC2

What process if any are their when you buy a used GC2? Is their a cost with transfer of software or do you need to get your used GC2 registered with foresight to get firmware updates thanks

Only need to register if you need to get your gc2 repaired. I am not sure about replacement flashes if they will sell them to you or not. Registration is $500. Software, you can use TGC, PG, Creative Golf 3d and E6 in addition to FSX from foresight. They might require you to register your gc2 to buy FSX.

It comes with FR1 can I update to FSX? I know that update would cost at least $500 but not sure how it works.

Sure you can upgrade to FSX. But that will be way more than 500, more like 1500. For practice FR1 is really good. And for course play TGC and JNPG is in my mind a better option than FSX, better graphics, online tournaments etc.

Remember when I bought your friend's GC2? I called Foresight and they told me that registration would be required for any dealings with them... including buying a new flash or software.

I was worried about not having access to a new flash, but andygg1986 sold me a fantastic DIY "mega" flash done on a commercial 3D printer. I figure the only time I will have to register with foresight is if/when my unit needs repairs...

I would call Andy’s first flashes DIY but his Mega Flash is an actual product. It’s solid. It’s not DIY IMO

I'm looking at buying a used GC2 and already have GSPRO. What I want to know is there any added cost after I buy the gc2 or only need the $500 registration if I needed service or another software? Don't want to spend $1000 only to find out I need to pay another $500 to register

There is no additional cost or subscription required to use GSPro. I thought I read someone's post that said Foresight won’t service GC2s anymore. Don’t let that be a dealbreaker as GC2s are tanks and as long as you don’t abuse it it should last many years. You might need to replace the flash at some point, but you can buy one without going through Foresight.

Ok so I see it's expensive and hard to find HMT for the HC2 so I would have Smash, club speed etc. What I want to know is it worth upgrading to GC2 without HMT from my R10 not having Smash and club speed? I can see benefit of GC2 on GSPRO is that it will be useful for puts and light chips but then im losing Smash and club speed for dialing in good and bad shots when I'm trying out balls, shafts, club yardage.
Just didn't know peoples insight not having those parameters with a stock gc2

It's simple. No HMT and get what you see outside, ball flight. With HMT you get a ton of great club data as well.

Worth adding that you can keep the R10 for measuring club speed.
