  • Firmware & High pitch noise when GC2 screen light is on?

Are all GC2's making a high pitch noise when screen light is turned on?

Also, I was told that 4.0.15 firmware is recommended for super flash.
My firmware is in the 12000's. Does it mean I shouldn't downgrade to 3.5.1?

Are you sure the high pitch noise is coming from the gc2 and not the power supply? Sometimes those can do that. And 12000 is your serial number. Firmware is shown during boot up but I don't see any difference for flash functionality. I think they don't want you using 3.5.1 because it shows flash count and then you could see exactly how long the $500 flash lasts

Hey andy, noise was without the adapter. Very weird indeed if nobody is experiencing it. I asked Foresight about this too.

Interesting. I tested GC2 with 4.0.15 only so now I will test it against Trackman on 3.5.1. But I doubt it will make that much of a difference.

Is there any other noticeable difference in 3.5.1 vs 4.0.15?

3,5 and 4 are not overly different except the 1 dot. 4 is a little longer but not a lot. 3,5 is still the most accurate Ive used. 4 is good and I love 1 dot so I I’m sticking with 4.0

I think I read 4.0.15 adds the one dot HMT functionality. I don't have one so I can't confirm this though

True, I am not sure which one enables one dot but you definitely lose it below 4.0. 3.10 only has 4 dot.

So, if 4 dots read fails, it doesn’t show 1 dot result at least?

I am ok with 4 dots only. I dont use 1 dot anyway.

On 4 if 4 dot fails it shows 1 dot data. On previous to 4 it shows dashes.

4.0 is 100% better for HMT. 1 dot gives AOA, CHS, Path and smash. I actually prefer 1 dot. 4 dots really clutters the golf club IMO

No impact location in 1 dot mode and no lie angle in 1 dot mode. Two variable I like to know currently.

You should use 4 dots then

Man, that's a bummer since you bought it new. You would hope that quality control would catch something like that. At least your unit will get looked at again, so any other minor things have a second chance at getting caught. Hopefully they can get you up and running soon, as I'm sure lots of us are looking forward to your comparison with your TM4

Well i heard a lot of stories saying they didnt see anything wrong with it so... i just hope spin axis gets fixed again for sure as it is off again. And with hmt, lie.

I will definitively find a postings on some comparison. I just came back from Golfzon today and found some interesting facts as well.

If it was me and it was purchased new I would just want them to swap a new to me. Why should you wait for repair?

I dont think they will give me a new one, because the new one will now become used. But maybe if it is within one month or whatever they can send me a new one?

LEO MODE I just got a GC2 and i noticed this high pitched noise when the screen was on too. Did you find out where it came from? Did you get the screen replaced?

I went to Foresight HQ since I live close and found out that the noise was present in most of the devices which varied the loudness. Poor QC is what it is but older units had less noise it seemed like so maybe as LED gets older the noise gets less. Sucks but that’s how it was made.

Ahhh I see. Yeh that sucks.
i think depends on your hearing too. I can hear it but others cannot. Seems pretty ordinary for an expensive piece of kit.

Yep I hear it very clearly but some people don’t.
