  • GC2 Flash counter question

Just got a brand spanking new gc2 serial 12000’s.
However when i downgraded to 3.5.1 the flash counter said 222 0.

I hit 6 wedge shots and went up to 282, so about 12 flashes per shot.

My question is, does a new unit come with 222 flashes or 0 since its a new unit?

Secondly, does the new super flash suppose to last 100,000+ flashes?

lastly, is there any way to find out how much hmt was used?

    thanks in advance.

Can’t answer your question, but congrats on the new unit and fingers crossed you get the performance that you are hoping for.

Thanks! GC2 will serve me really well to verify Spin Rates all the time, and no more stress on chipping/putting in a sim.

There’s no way to tell on HMT. The mega flash will last for years.

Sucks that HMT doesnt have a counter.

The superflash or megaflash will last for around 100k shots which is more like 1 million flashes. I bet the 200 flashes that were already on there were from calibration and quality control testing. They probably don't bother resetting it since the new firmware doesn't show it.

Strange, followed the instruction given here to check my GC2 flash count.

Doesn't say. The only option I had was "reset flash count".
I noticed the screws were loose and contacted the seller who said he'd taken the flash unit out! Would this screw up the count and make the unit think it's been replaced?

Still don't know why the distributor even removed it really. Hopefully not to hide a high count 😕

flash counter is no longer there if your firmware is 4.0.15. Only 3.5.1 or below firmware will show the flash counter (or at least 3.5.1 for sure).

Taking it out doesn't reset the flash count. If he wanted to he could just select reset flash count from the menu. Basically the count is just how many flashes since the last time it was manually reset. It is up to you to remember to reset it when you put a new flash in.

Everyone always talks about Flash Counters. There is no need to worry. Use your GC2 and have fun. When its missing a lot of shots it’ll be time to change the flash. That is why they got rid of the counter. It’s pretty useless.

The counter can be reset any time and is reset when you update firmware. It’s not going to help.
