    Upgrading from a Skytrak to a GC2

I just got my used GC2 from Fedex today. I fired it up and hit a few shots. I like the LCD display and how it reads out the numbers to you. I knew that it didn't come with a basic range software like skytrak. But that's kind of a disappointment from a higher price point unit. I did notice that the read out was almost instantenous which i'm really looking forward to in TGC. I was able to get my phone bluetooth and computer bluetooth and usb to recognize the GC2.

A couple questions to the guys that have made this move or own a GC2.
    1) I don't have an IPAD. Is it worth it to get one for the app? Is the Android app any good? The reviews were mixed.
    2) Do I call Skygolf or Protee to get my TGC subscription transferred over?
    3) If I plan on adding an HMT, is it worth it to get FSX2018? (Does FSX show all the data on screen like the skytrak range?)

Those are my first impressions and questions I have. I am really looking foward to having everything transferred and working.

    1) ipad is free and should serve 80-90% of what you need. Other 10-20% are Total distances metric, golf simulator and animated ball flight. I don’t think $3000 is worth covering that 10-20%. I highly recommend getting a $300 ipad vs $3000 fsx which only supports PC.

    3) ipad shows HMT data too.

Thanks for the reply. So the Ipad app doesn't show animated ball flight? Like a basic range?

The Ipad display shows ball flight, club data via display and other graphics. It also keeps all the shot data which you can export. The GC2 screen shows all of the data in numbers but only for one shot. The app is really good.
